Someone has an inferiority complex about something personal

I do not remember having heard "manly powers" overused so

Not in the video because he was wearing wedges a red evening dress

(wedges are easier to walk in than heels or so I was told by a "girl friend".

Hey, I played the Medic class a lot in Battlefield 2...I liked their primary weapon choices, and it was nice to be able to heal others and myself. I always get annoyed when someone playing as a freaking Medic isn't healing people LIKE THE CLASS IS SUPPOSED TO DO!!

Anyway, I personally agree that gays and lesbians need to be portrayed more often, and more positively, in games. I won't comment on the gaming community, as this stuff is expected on Live. I mean come on, the place breeds idiocy.

However, homosexuals really do need to appear more in games besides as either A) stereotypical gay joke characters or B) lesbian eye candy (See DOA). BioWare, while certainly touching on the issue, tends to still shy away from developing the theme too much. Homosexuality, like sex, is something that the game industry can't keep blushing and beating around the bush about if we want to see the medium become more respected as a mature form of entertainment like novels and movies. Let the religious right-wingers say what they will, they will just come off as the bigots that they are.

I agree with your sentiments raven28256, but unlike the movie industry.. the game industry seems to not be graced with the same opportunities to explore sexual situations in a similar manner without getting the AO ban hammer put on it.

Things will eventually change. Before long a new whipping boy will come along and angry parental groups and right-wing politicians will have something else to blame all of society's woes on. It took a while before movies were even allowed to say "damn," yet alone the sort of stuff we see in modern movies. But...To get games out of the hot seat faster, a developer will need to first step forward, TRY to explore these themes, weather the backlash, and eventually the public will see that the world isn't about to end and they'll get tired of trying to attack video games because they can no longer use it as a shallow disguise to push their religious or political agendas.

Well, one can only hope. I still feel that one day gaming will indeed get a little more respect, possibly as those who actually grew up playing games begin taking more positions of power and influence(thus allowing games the opportunity to explore more mature themes properly), but sadly I don't see that happening anytime soon. Let's face it.. the Hot Coffee incident alone set gaming's perception back a decade.

It's all about numbers. The number of people who play FPS games primarily fit into the jock category. And when you get so many like minded individuals together, they feel more free to say things that are on their mind. Including racist, biased, and generally bigot thoughts. Tag along as a white guy with your black friends (as I have) to a "Def Comedy Jam". You will see their racist and bigot side in no time flat. Same goes for gays, lesbians, or what have you. People are unfortunately just built that way. Yuko, I don't see you as a bigot, but your comment about men's professional sports seems to lean that way. As a former high school football player and an avid football fan, a "collection of cavemen" seems a bit harsh. The majority does not make up the whole. And it permeates the entire culture, not just one medium. An atheist (like myself) would have about the same chance of being president as being caught on camera during an act of spontaneous combustion. You're going to have to wait for the human evolution of 44+2 chromosomes to the 46+2 set.
