Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 are being remade for the Wii.

I would like to defend the remakes, being the sheep that I am. Specifically the simplicity of doing it (and wasting their time doing this when they could be working on Pikmin 3...)

Yes, remakes are simple. Do you know what is simpler? Making more Pikmin 1 & 2 games. The Wii can play GC games, so it's not like VC titles where the original is obsolete. The only true problem with the pikies is their rarity, and either remakes or more originals would be able to solve this.

Why do this when they could be working on Pikmin 3? Pikmin three is likely nowhere near the coding stage (early development is planning usually). Yet the wii will likly change the controls from Pikmin 2 to Pikmin 3? The solution? Pikmin 2's planning stage has already been done, so they can do whatever Wiimote shenanigans they want to it now, instead of waiting for Pikmin 3 to be producible.

While private tests could be done, it doesn't let us debug the game. I stand by my belief that being able to debug a system before it is used in a major release is a good thing. Pikmin 3 is a major release. Pikmin 2 2 is not.

And the most obvious reason... money. I will not deny that.

Yeah u have some points, but i think it was because the gamecube was overlooked all together. I dont see people buying 7th generation systems and then buying 6th generation games. They either want it to be downloadable or in their face right now. If they do have the gamecube then yes these are pointless but if they dont, they dont want to have to buy the game and a controller and a memory card. Im still excited for pikmin 3
