First off, I'm not an analyst, nor should you take my word for anything that I say. It's 100% in my mind speculation based on what was show in this latest trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4.
Okay so the trailer seems pretty straight forward this time around and with good reason. Now we will finally see who lives in the Metal Gear Solid saga. Myself being the Metal Gear crack addict I quickly found the video online and watched it countless times. There are a few things that I noticed in the trailer that I'm sure Konami wanted everyone to find.
At 0:44 sec and again at 0;53 sec Ocelot is clearly shown. What isn't clearly shown is who he's talking to in the background. Now just from first speculation, it probably is someone new that we havn't seen yet. However if I was to put a name on it if it was someone we've seen, I'm sure it's a plot twist character. It would make total sense, not to mention wrong, to have a Metal Gear game with no backstabbing. As far as names go, I draw a blank, but I'm sure we've known them.
Next, timeline. It's finally revealed when MGS4 will take place. If the dialouge is part of the timeline, we can clearly deduct when MGS4 takes place. There is a line that Naomi says, "Nine years ago, at Shadow Moses..." If MGS1 takes place in 2005, which it does, the proper time that the game takes place is 2014. 9 years after the events of MGS1.
Of course there's the mystry solider at 2:15 who doesn't seem to be affected by the so call "virus'. Naomi mentioned that Oceleot was planning on tinkering with the 1st generation Nanos. So would that mean that this mystry solider is a high tech character? Another thing to notice, at 2:24, his hair is show in a small sliver. If you guessed right, his hair resembles that of Raiden, which follows my theory of the high tech solider with new nanos in his body. If it is Raiden though, why is he not in his kickass suit, and why does his voice sound different?
Finally I turn your attention to the Raiden/Vamp fight. Cool eh? Did you notice his dogtags? Probably right? Did you count them? I did. Wanna know how many he has on? Five. Clearly, a reference to when Raiden first meets Vamp. His first lines are, "Five today, or rather, six?"
That's enough of me ranting. MGS fanatic, out.
Just going over a play through of MGS2 on the PS2 just because it comes before MGS4. There are a few things I want to bring to something to light before we all watch the new MGS4 trailer tommorow day:
*SPOILERS!!@!!*
- Olga's Baby
- Rose's Baby
- Rose's True identity
If you search hard enough, you'll find out that Rose is pregnant at the end of MGS2, which is pretty obvious. However, it was mentioned in two or three lines that Rose was a spy of the Patriots. Also that her identy is all a ploy. Everything about her is fake apparently to satisfy Jack/Raiden. Just something to think about.
