Turns out that after seeing GameSpot forums down page for quite a while, I finally looked up and realized that GS fully forwards you to that page rather than just displaying it over the forums tab, which meant I'd been refreshing that the whole time. Good going, nimrod.

Lately I've been messing around a lot with PVP in World of Warcraft. For me, longevity of a game is based entirely on the quality of PVP, and until recently I've been very satisfied. The Alterac Valley battleground was a blast -- especially for anyone that has played Tribes. However with the latest content update came the new Arathi Basin battleground. The result of something shiney and new is that people all flock to it, and the massive 40 v 40 Alterac Valley matches no longer even start because too many people are busy playing Arathi Basin.

What bothers me about this is that Arathi Basin sucks. You're either in a well coordinated raid group that simply dominates the match or you're in a pickup group getting dominated. Although I say with no hint of hesitation that I believe the Horde on Hellscream (my realm, and my faction) are better in a fight than the Alliance, the Alliance have prebuilt teams and we do not. Their teams wind up doing nothing but "farming" these matches for Contribution Points towards the PVP reward system. Since I really want my full PVP armor set, this is hurting me a lot, as I'm not advancing fast enough due to Alterac Valley not running. You see, in a 15 v 15 the Alliance can fill their team with raid members, all on Teamspeak or Ventrilo. In a 40 v 40 they can't. In Alterac Valley, the Horde almost always wins. In Arathi Basin the level of organization turns the tables.

In any event, I just needed to vent that a little. I need more daily honor if I'm to qualify for my armor, and being as I don't enjoy Arathi Basin, that may be a problem...
