The RCC has performed an illegal action and needs to be closed. We are sorry for any inconveniences. >_>

See, that just doesn't work as well, both because you didn't follow the proper syntax of the error message (it's "illegal operation" and "needs to be shut down"), and because it's not a one-way commentary.

Oh, I can't deny that there's been some bad stuff done by members of, and even ostensibly in the name of, the Church. But the same basic argument could be raised against pretty much every other Christian denomination too; there's been plenty of persecutions in every direction, plenty of illegality (at least under canon law), and plenty of injustice.

Whereas the Sola Scriptura comment is genuinely one-way; Catholics don't believe in that particular piece of Lutheran invention.

All in a sense of good humour. Religion and politics both are subjects we should take serious most of the time but it is not right to let friendly debates turn into an arguments.

A little jocularity injected into both religion and politics is healthy - especially politics, for what are the political systems of both America and Canada but huge jokes on the people of our nations

that button is not clickable... lol

I clicked it, but Windows kept giving me that "boop" noise that it does whenever it won't do something. Bill Gates must be Protestant.

Ah, dragon, dragon dragon... its a pity we must continually go around in this circle of you claiming the catholic church to be the representation of all that is right in the world, and I vehemently denying such a claim...

So what happened, I see you have been online plenty, why no responses in the CU?

does noone that shows up to this blog have a sense of humour?

Theo, I don't know what religion Gates is. But I hear he is a supporter of Planned Parenthood, and thus most likely wouldn't want more people becoming "accursed women-hating papists" (no Gates didn't said that I made that phrase up but I can imagine some feminists using such terms).

Dan, I can do nothing to help either your patronizing tone or your being incorrect and unable to accept the plain truth in this matter.

Owing to the fact that I was spontaneously shipped off to Wyoming for the better part of two weeks, and also to the fact that I am super-busy at work now that we have a steady contract to pursue, and ALSO to the fact that I typically only GS from work...I've been away.

And probably will be for at least another week.

Well you are as free to anybody to your opinions, though I would have to say you haven't done the best job in the world of defending them, especially if you hold them to be 'plain truth'.

You know what they say about horses and water, I can only assume?

So too here. But that's just the problem: one can lay out the most well-researched, logical case possible, and people will still reject it on emotional grounds. C'est la vie.

Very much neither here nor there, because you have failed on multiple occasions to present a well thought out, logical argument that abides by the reality of history.

I've failed to present an argument that abides by the history you have been taught and are willing to accept. This is a far different thing than failing to present an argument that fails to abide by actual history.

You still use the term "Dark Ages," and you expect me to take you seriously when you criticize my misunderstanding of history?
