The first season of Brothers & Sisters truly ended with a splash. The season finale was simply amazing, and I don't think it's possible for the writers to have ended the season any better than they did. I watched both the Desperate Housewives and the Brothers & Sisters finale, and I have to admit that I thought that the Brothers & Sisters season finale was a thousand times much better than the Desperate Housewives finale, even with the ending that Desperate Housewives had.

I just simply don't think that the season finale of Desperate Housewives could possibly make up for the lackluster third season that Desperate Houswives has had. Brothers & Sisters on the other hand has been great all season long. It started with a bang and the season ened with a bang. I love how the writers went full circle with the pool. The first episode ended with the dad, William, falling into the pool as he was dying of a heart attack, and the season finale ended with the whole family jumping into the pool as a celebration.

The season finale definitely had its sad moments with Justin preparing to go back to Iraq and Julia dealing with her grief over the death of baby William, but the season finale was definitely much lighter and more fun filled than I expected it to be, but that's fine with me.

The season finale had some really great storylines what with Nora trying to plan an engagement party for Senator Rob and Kitty, Kevin helping with the plans for the party and running into Jason McCallister again in the process as well as Justin preparing for his return to Iraq. I loved the McCallister family, especially the uncle. Nora and Kitty's fight during the whole telophon for the party was great. Sally Field and Calista Flockhart were great in that scene. Sally Field was great in this whole episode. The whole cast did a great job in this episopde.

I have to say that my favorite storyline from the finale was definitely Kevin helping to plan Kitty's engagement party with Jason. Those scenes were definitely the most enjoyable to watch. I especially enjoyed watching Jason and Kevin's scenes together. I think that Eric Winter and Matthew Rhys have really great chemistry together. I especially enjoyed the scene where Jason and Kevin end up making out in the the pantry of the Walker house. I'm so glad that Jason and Kevin hooked up at the end of the episode. I really hope that Eric Winter (Jason) will be able to return for the second season so the Jason and Kevin relationship can continue to develop, but we'll have to wait and see about that since Eric Winter's Viva Lauglin pilot was picked up. I'm a huge Eric Winter fan, so I really hope that he will be able to return as a guest star for season two.

This episode sure had a lot of plot twists. I found out about Jason being a minister and Saul being gay before the episode aired, so those two twists weren't very shocking to me. I was really surprised about the whole thing with Rebecca though. I loved the whole Jason being a minister thing, especially Kevin's reaction to it. That was hilarious!

All in all, this was a really great episode, and I thought that it was a fantastic way to end the first season of Brothers & Sistsers which was really outstanding. I can't wait for season one to be released on DVD so I can watch the episodes over and over again, and I'm really excited for the second season to start in the fall. I think it's going to be a really long summer without any new episodes of Brothers & Sisters to watch.

I honestly don't have much to say about this week's episode of Brothers & Sisters so this post is going to shorter than my other blog entries on Brothers & Sisters. It definitely wasn't the best episode ever of Brothers & Sisters, but it definitely wasn't the worst episode ever either. One very good thing about this episode was that I thought that this episode set up for this Sunday's season finale just perfectly. That being said, let's move onto discussing the story lines that were featured in this episode.

First up, I found the blackmail storyline with Senator McCallister fairly boring. I don't have much to say on this storyline other than the fact that I liked that Kevin helped the senator deal with the blackmailer. I also think that Kevin helping the senator with the blackmailer will be one of the things that helps Kevin's encounter with Jason McCallister in the season finale go much better since their blind date in Game Night was a disaster, and it was basically Kevin's dislike for the senator that caused his date with Jason to go so badly.

I really liked the scene where Nora and Rebecca have tea together and talk. I thought that it was very well done by both Sally Field Emily VanCamp.

I thought that the senator taking Justin to see the injured soldiers at the hospital was a very nice thing for the senator to do. I enjoyed that storyline.

As for the senator's proposal to Kitty, I thought that was very sweet and romantic. Although, I have to admit that I've always been a real sucker for romance.

I really enjoyed Sarah and Joe's storyline this week. It was pretty dramatic, but I still really enjoyed it. The scene where Sarah and Joe talk to their kids about what's going on between them was very well done. All of the actors who were in that scene did a great job, especially Rachael Griffiths and the actress who plays Paige. I'm really impressed with the actress who plays Paige's acting given the fact that she's so young.

Last, but not least and the saddest story line of the episode: Tommy and Julia deal with the premature birth of their twins. That storyline was so sad, and I think it's just tragic that baby William died. This story line really made me cry. The ending of the episode when Tommy and Julia are with baby Elizabeth while the rest of the family look at them through the window of the nursery was very nice though. It's been really nice to see a lot of Tommy and Julia lately since they're probably two of the most underused characters on the show.

All in all, this definitely wasn't the best episode ever of Brothers & Sisters, but it wasn't the worst episode ever either. I thought that it was the perfect setup for this Sunday's season finale which I am really, really looking forward to.

Grapes Of Wrath was another fantastic episode of Brothers & Sisters, and I definitely enjoyed Brothers & Sisters way more than I enjoyed Desperate Housewives this past Sunday. In fact to completely honest, I hardly paid any attention Desperate Housewives this week, but that's not the case with this Sunday's episode of Brothers & Sisters. With the exception of the commercial breaks during Brothers & Sister, my eyes were glued to the screen the whole time.

Grapes Of Wrath was such a great episode with so many wonderful things about it. The writers did an absolutely amazing job of blending both the drama and the comedy together in this episode. The scene with drunk/high Kitty was absolutely hilarious! I absolutely loved it. Calista Flockhart played the whole drunk/high thing to perfection. I also loved the scene with Kevin and Kitty when Kitty woke up the next morning with a hangover. Matthew Rhys did an excellent job in that scene.

As for the whole food fight between Nora and Holly, that was absolutely amazing. That was definitely the best scene in the entire episode. I loved how the writers wrote that scene with a perfect blend of drama and comedy. I also love that the writers haven't made the character Holly some one dimensional mistress. Holly is much more complex than that. I think that both the writers and Patricia Wettig have both done such a wonderful job of making the character Holly Harper very human. Sally Field and Patricia Wettig both did a great job in that scene.

I also really enjoyed Rachel Griffiths' performance as Sarah in this episode. The end with Julia going into labor was very sad, but the scene was very well done. Sarah Jane Morris did an outstanding job in that scene. All in all, Grapes Of Wrath was another great episode of Brothers & Sisters, and I can't wait for this Sunday's episode. Based on the previews, it looks like the episode is going to be a real tearjerker, but a very good episode as well.
