Ok, I didn't know what to title it, lol, but here are the top 20 pieces of music I like to listen to (and this is in no particular order and with links to YouTube if I can find it on there)...listed as artist/composer-title of piece/movie, title of piece if it's a movie:

1. Bond-Quixote
2. E.S. Posthumus-Pompeii
3. Clint Mansell-Lux Aeterna Requiem for a Dream remix (Lord of the Rings: Two Towers trailer)
4. Ludwig van Beethoven-Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement
5. Beethoven-Pathetique Sonata 1st Movement
6. Beethoven-Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement (this is the movement most people know)
7. Hans Zimmer-Gladiator, The Battle
8. Jerry Goldsmith-Star Trek: Nemesis, Odds and Ends
9. Jerry Goldsmith-Star Trek: Insurrection, Not Functioning
10. Jerry Goldsmith-Star Trek: Insurrection, The Drones Attack
11. Howard Shore-Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, The Black Rider
12. Howard Shore-Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, At the Sign of the Prancing Pony
13. Howard Shore-Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, A Knife in the Dark
14. Gioachino Rossini-Barber of Seville Overture
15. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart-Requiem in D minor: Dies Irae
16. Mozart-Requiem in D minor: Confutatis
17. Peter Raeburn-Celebrare
18. Mario Lanza-You'll Never Walk Alone

And now for something completely different:

19. Evanescence-Call Me When You're Sober
20. Bon Jovi-It's My Life

Ok, the last two are about the only non cIassical(ish) music that I like...

legolas, yes I prefer cIassical to anything else...and there was one other song I wanted to put but couldn't find a decent representation of it on YouTube...it was The Steward of Gondor from Return of the King...so if you have that you'll know which song I'm referring to.

BBS, yes, even though I am a Man Utd supporter through and through, I do like that song...especially sung by Mario Lanza...It is from Carousel by Rogers and Hammerstein and the original artist is Christine Johnson...it was actually intended for a female vocalist...

I like a couple of Evanescence's songs, as well as some good old Beethoven -- and the Lord of the Rings pieces are just totally epic.

Hi Wren, Have you seen the Twilight film?? There is some fantastic music in the soundtrack. I've got it all on my ipod and listen to it constantly. "Leave out all the rest" and "Going all the way" are my favourites. Some of the tracks are rather like Evanescence in sound. There are tracks by Linkin Park & Muse on the cd. I'm really biased because I think that Edward Cullen is soooo!!!! I know that I should act my age but I don't really care lol

@babs...you do know the actor that played Edward Cullen was the same guy that played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter, right? And I have seen the film, didn't really pay attention to the music, but I never do the first time I see a film unless the music is by someone I know (like Jerry Goldsmith, Hans Zimmer etc)...I'll have a listen at it next time.

It's weird but when Rob Pattinson played Cedric Diggory I didn't notice him that much but as Edward Cullen he has really caught my imagination.

I like Hans Zimmer(and of course the Classical artists you mentioned). The music he did for Pirates of the Caribbean for instence... Outstanding.
