I know what you're thinking. "But Wonkyman, you just did a post about random stuff last time and it was long and stuff and I have a life and a girlfriend and a job and a government official to hide from evil terrorists, else the fate of the country fall out of balance." Well sir, to you I say psh! If I want to write two consecutive random blurb posts, then so I shall.

But since you brought up my last post, I thought I'd mention: Hey! Remember how I mentioned Epic Mickey? Get this:

Something Epic is Brewing

Looks like GameInformer's gonna give us the juice on Epic Mickey soon. And that makes me happy.

Oh! Here's an important one..

Psychonauts 2: It Could Happen

According to the Schafer himself, if fans make enough noise, Raz could return.

Now listen. I don't ask for much. I know Psychonauts sold poorly, and hey, I was part of the problem at the time. I bought it for super cheap probably a year after it was considered a failure. But I have played it and I love it. If there's a chance we can make DoubleFine or Majesco or Tim Schafer or all of the above see how much Psychonauts 2 needs to be made, then I'm on board with that. And I hope you would be too. There will be more Legend of Zelda, whether you continue to freak out at Nintendo about it or not. But there are some games that actually need your voice behind it.

Oh! I promised this one last time and almost forgot.

Lost in Shadow Tower

Since my last blog, the game has received a name-change, but it's still kickass. Shadow Tower is now Lost in Shadow, but it's still about a boy who exists only as a shadow, trying to scale this tower for some reason.

There are two things that excite me about this game in a big way. One, is the hidden nature of this game. It exists in a 3D universe, but shadows are inherently two-dimensional, making this a 2D platformer. I remember back when Mega Man 9 was being released, in an interview, one of the design team said that Capcom was very against making it retro. They believed that 3D was what sold and 2D was asking for abysmal sales. So here's Hudson, making a game that looks 3D, but isn't! Brilliant. The second thing that gets me on board with this game is the look. It hasn't stopped reminding me of Ico since day 1. And Ico was an incredible experience.

Okamiden Makes Me Happy

So Okamiden is for the DS. I'm okay with that. Generally, what I like is for my casual, silly games to be on my handheld, and for the bigger games like RPGs to be on my console. This generation seems to have that backwards. But! This game has changed Okami into a series. That makes me happy. And if Okamiden sells well, we could easily see more. And that makes me happy. And Chibiterasu is adorable. And that makes me happy. So Okamiden is good medicine.

I Have Finished Little King's Story

And I have one thing to say to those of you still on the fence about it: Get it. Though you can see the plot twist at the end coming a mile away, you don't see the little details of that twist at all, and it's how everything comes together in the end that made it a great ending, and an overall amazing experience. I loved this game. I loved the intelligence of the humor, the creativity that made each boss battle an entirely different beast, I loved the clash between religion and science offered between Father Campbell (Ramen!) and Skinny Ray, and the hilariousness of the way they both spoke. I even loved my polygamist wives and their silly fetch quests, especially Kokomo Pine's insanely frustrating one because it was fun to hear my citizens walk around town singing bad opera.

And if you had a problem with the cuteness levels, don't worry. Cing has heard you, and Little King's Story 2 will look like this:

Wow, you're a pretty good 'gamespelunker'! It seems that every post I read here adds two or three new games to my tracking list. Congrats on that!

By the way, Okamiden makes me happy too...

That is awesome, so many good news! I just read the Epic Mickey thing on GoNintendo and I am very glad to hear some solid information on the title.

I was a little disappointed to see Okamiden appearing on the DS, but that won't stop it from being awesome!

Lost in Shadow sounds amazing and the possibility of Psychonauts 2 makes me very happy even though I haven't played the first one.

If that is how the next LKS will look like I will personally go to Cing and tell them off on that terrible decision! I want cuteness!
I love everything about that game including Kokomo Pine's demanding quest, the terrible opera singing is hilarious! I also love Princess Talk, I just wish they had more topics in discussion!

@julianozuca - Thanks. I'm very forgetful actually. So over the years I've gotten in the habit of writing everything down. So now I just keep a list of upcoming games on my desktop. Comes in handy.

@Pierst179 - Shh. GoNintendo is where I get 90% of my facts. Don't tell julianozuca.

Psychonauts was very cool. I know most people are against re-releases, but I would love to see the first one get one more shot, this time on a Nintendo system. Platformers and Nintendo go together like peanut butter and evil peanut butter (5 points to Gryffindor if you get that reference.) and I think the game has earned a sort of notoriety as a failed gem, that more people would pick it up on Wii.

Princess Talk made me smile. But I'm with you, there should have been more than just attractive points, vacation spots and armageddon. Oh well, great game anyway.

@reo-117 - Did you get very far in the rental? I don't have the focus to play a 40+ hour game over a weekend. Long games demand that I buy them.

@Wonkyman: I'll pretend I didn't read that - otherwise I would have to stop tracking you and bookmark GoNintendo...

I have a subscription to my rental store so I can rent it as long as I want.

A sequel to the classic Psychonauts needs to be made, as it was underplayed and under-appreciated by many. Myself included, I never saw the appeal of the game until I tried it out. What a great game.
