The only Cold cd I own is Year of the Spider, and it is currently a favorite cd of mine.

I'm bored so I decided to try and write a blog. I'm not used to writing my thoughts/feelings/whatever-the-frell down as I've never had a journal/diary/online blog. Anyways, this will be about TV. What were you expecting? This is TV.com, no? That's what I thought.

My newest favorite shows:

Moonlight--I decided to give it a try a little while back and guess what, I completely fell in love with it (and Mick, though I hear that's not an uncommon occurance)! It was funny, entertaining and vampirey. I love vampires, werewolves and those kind of 'creatures of the night'.

The only drawback to the show was Mick's "woe is me, I'm a vampire, how awful, I hate what I am with every fiber of my being" attitude. I'm very tired of lead vampires in books/movies/shows that despise themselves for being vampires and feel a need to atone for their existence. It's just like humans with their always wishing they were someone else, I see that enough in real life I don't need it on the TV as well.

But seeing as I was able to get past Mick's attitude and enjoy the show, that must mean Moonlight's pretty damn good. And it was. It had good storylines, interesting characters and character development, Mick's narrating added to the show and you felt for the characters and their predicaments. Unfortunately the sons of hazmots at CBS canceled this show after only 16 episodes.

Life: I discovered this show...this morning actually, and got completely hooked after that first episode. I have watched the first five episodes and am very happy to see that Life's coming back this fall! Charlie Crews is an odd, funny, caring detective who got utterly frelled when he was wrongfully convicted for three murders he didn't commit (hence the 'wrongfully'. Finally after 12 years he gets freed, along with a reinstatement to the police department and undisclosed amount of money. He confuses people with his Zenness and general madness, but he's really brilliant and knows what he's doing.

It makes me laugh, it makes me sad (the guy was stuck in a prison full of cop-haters for 12 years), and most of all it makes me want to see more. Life is a great new show (well, newish). Yes, I know it's a cop show and there are a lot of cop shows on TV right now, but it's still damn good.

Brothers and Sisters: Normally I don't watch this kind of show, but I was bored (ha, imagine that) and I found it online so I tried the pilot. I wasn't completely hooked at the first episode, but I kept watching and I found I liked it (enough so that I finished both seasons in a couple weeks).

The family members fight, gossip about each other, screw things up, and love each other very much. After all the yelling and clashing, the siblings are there when they need one another, and ultimately have the closest relationships with each other.

Best of all, it's funny. Sometimes too funny when I'm watching late at night...Kevin usually has the best lines of the characters, and he's also my favorite sibling.

Well...that was exciting. Oh, and my family has no idea I watch these shows...I suppose I'm a rather secretive person. Secluded, that's a good word. Although it's kind of sad that no one watches with me, because I have a terrible habit of associating things with my shows. Or sometimes someone will say something close to a quote from a show and I'll have to resist saying something in return.

Any unfamiliar words are courtesy of Farscape, one of the best frelling shows out there.

A new blog, wonderful! You make great points. I liked Moonlight but I especially agree on Life. I am glad you discovered it. I am not one for the 100th cop show myself, but I thought this one is special, as well. And Damian Lewis with his fruit addiction and the Zen is really something! I like him.
You know, I agree on Scotty. I am so surprised to like this show but I agree it's nicely different and it sucked me in. Perhaps you are right and it wasn't at once but eventually I found myself caring about these guys.
Why don't you tell your family? Don't they enjoy some TV once in a while? I don't report every show I give a try to, myself, but when I fall in love with something I feel the need to share it. This place here is actually also wonderful for that.

Hmm, I've heard of those shows, but never actually watched them. I might try them out

Ela: Thank you. Charlie is a very cool character.

Well, I watch a lot of television online, so sharing the shows wouldn't work so well that way. If I buy the DVD's of any shows, then I would share.

Dragon: I had heard of both of them way before I started watching. Fortunately I decided to give them a try.

You should at least give Life a chance. I don't know if many guys enjoy Brothers and Sisters.
