The concept of censorship sucks. I don't care where it is. People are taking the internet too seriously. You go to certain websites and try to express yourself; BAM! Censored. Youtube's doing it, Twitter does it, Myspace does it... Hell, Gamespot does it (and even worse). Censorship is growing. The sad part is the only communities you'll be able to say what you want in are the ones you create yourself. There's been a lot of commotion about net neutrality and how the U.S. government will get rid of it in the near future. What's neutral about it anymore? So many people are taking advantage of the freedoms people can express. It's a simple math: give people what they want and you can do what ever you want to the people. Hence why the anarchistic minds are starting to grow again.
Games have tons of censorship now as well. I agree to an extent that games like Postal can go over the top with burning babies and whatever but when games like Grand Theft Auto incorporate drunk driving and uses it in a way where people will dislike the experience and an organization like MADD comes along claiming that Rockstar's trying to encourage the use. Yeah, the shock part about it is these types of lawsuits can win.
I don't care about games though. That's just an example to show how much censorship is spread out. Now the internet is taking hold of it. I say stand out and make a stance. Don't fall into censorship, that's you turning into a pawn. Conformity fails. It's all about you and what you want to say and do. Make a stand.
