I've lost 9 pounds this month. I now have a neck, and cheekbones! Stepping up exercise and stepping down portions = success. Yay!

I also darkened my hair to my natural color. Well, close anyway. Looks good. Better than blonde, I think. Little3 is just fabulous, and really enjoying his summer break.

Marriage is ... meh.

How're you all?

I can't remember the last time I had a quickie.

Ditto what FF said.

Congrats on the weight loss. My son will be 12 tomorrow...he's my youngest and now he's only one year from being a teenager!! Where does the time go? My hubby is on vacation...we are doing things around the house instead of going anywhere...hmmm I wonder if we'll survive.

Congratulations on all the muscles! I dropped off with the strength training in March, but I started up swimming this month. I've been averaging about 3-5 solid hours of swimming laps a week.

In addition to the aerobic exercise, it's actually pretty good for the upper body. I've altered my breaststroke so that I'm pushing down more in the water. This uses my pectorals more and helps to balance out the work on my lats. Sometimes I'll also do some push-ups after swimming the laps. I can definitely feel my shoulders getting bigger. Pecs and lats too.

I'll probably have to start doing squats and leg curls though. Swimming doesn't really work your legs that much, at least not for strength training and muscle development. If I don't, I'll look like those chicken leg bodybuilders on the Saturday Night Live skits (not Hans 'n Franz, but some other pair; they used to sit on a couch with foam muscles on top but for their legs, there was just a pair of thin flesh-colored strips with shoes attached to the bottom).

Thanks, all, for the support and congrats. I hate to brag, but I'm just SO excited. I actually wore a tank top to town last week. Never happened before. Never.

Fastfilm -- I'm working on a pic. I'm having a problem getting my computer to acknowledge my camcorder. I hate technology.

Books -- LOL! I can't remember the last time I had anything else.

Cajungirl -- Twelve ... ouch! I can't imagine. The time really does fly by. My hubby and I have never taken a vacation to anywhere before. I doubt we could survive that. Maybe staying home, you guys can have a full-on GG marathon.

123home123 -- Whoa! You must have pruny fingers. That's truly impressive. Swimming is very intense; too much so for me. I've had to really step up my upper body work, because I'm the opposite of you, it seems. My legs and glutes are strong and toned, but my shoulders and arms ... not so much. This weight loss has made a big difference in the appearance of my arms, though, and that gave me an extra boost of motivation. I know what you're talking about - on SNL - but I can't quite remember who played the characters either.

I drink a lot of water so actually my fingers don't get wrinkled. Hah!

I found that SNL skit. It was called "How Much Ya Bench?" It was a bodybuilding talk show sponsored by a steroid company. Chris Farley and David Spade were two of the bodybuilder panelists. This is one of the only pictures I could find.
