well, if u're just getting a learner's permit (at least in NE) u don't have to take any test u just go in a get it, for a school's permit, u have to take a drivers test and a written test, so if u're just gonna u're learner's permit, if it works the same way there as it does in NE, then get at least ur learner's...but a school permit, u can drive by urself....up to u, but if it was me i'd get my school

Yeah, I'd get it too. When I got my permit, I got a school permit. It wasn't like a level one, but I got to do the same things. Then I had to take a test and after I passed I had to go get my level 1 (segment 1). Then I had to take another class and then I got my segment 2 and then I had to take the road test to get my license. Okay...sorry for the long thing. If it's just a school permit and not like a level 1/segment 1, then I'd go ahead and get it. I didn't use mine that much, but it was still nice to have it. If it's your level 1/segment 1 then I would without a doubt get it, cause you have to get it to get your license. At least that's how it is where I live.
