Blogging
Been a long time since i've made a blog post, but it's been so hectic I haven't really had time to compose a blog, so it's about time for my first 2008 blog post

Movies
Recently i've bought a few Jackie Chan movies (Love the comedy included in his movies and the amazing stunts performed), haven't seen them in ages and there hasn't been any on TV for a long time.

My collection of DVD's now has the following added:
- Mr Nice Guy
- Rush Hour
- Rush Hour 2
- The Medallion
- Who Am I?
- Gorgeous

Thinking about having a marathon night some time of the Jackie Chan movies, will be a great comical and martial arts night

Games
In other news... Looking forward to the next installment of the popular Dawn of war series, with the release of Soulstorm next month ( 6th of march), adding two new teams (Sisters of battle & Dark Elder), a few new units for existing teams, new upgrades and excellent single player experiance fighting across multiple planets and moons

[Any questions about my user name can be referred to my first blog entry : My first blog (ever) ...]

C&C - Red Alert 3 has been announce. Big fan of the C&C series when it was made by Westwood (Along with Frank Klepacki's music), but i'm not sure that EA will make a quality game, but time will tell

Oddly, I still enjoy playing Red Alert (1) to this day, even though the graphics are nothing compared to those of today, though i've always found the gameplay to be excellent and enjoy the music as previously mentioned.

Went around to a friends place last Saturday and watched some movies.

Was very nice watching the movies on a big screen rear projection TV (Forgot the size of it, but its large), with a 5:1 sound setup + amplifier, placed around the seating area.

The night lasted a while, with a total of 3 movies:
Transformers
The Longest Yard
Rambo 3

The last one was the only one I hadn't seen before, but it was nice to watch the others again with a good sound system and big screen

I'm looking forward to the next time my friend hosts a movie night and while on the topic of movies, I bought the special steelback edition of Transformers for both my friend who hosted the night and myself

Any other FilmSpotters host or go to movie nights at there friends places?

Thought I'd post some thoughts/comments about some trailers of upcoming movies & games. Most are based on the action genre. [Some titles may have been released, depending on your location]

The trailers are worth checking out if you have the time and are

Movies

The Dark Knight (Batman)
A bit of talk in the trailer and not movie clips, disappointing currently. Hoping to see some movie clips of action in the future trailers.

National Treasure 2
Looking to be much more action and interesting then the first movie. Looking forward to seeing the movie.

Hitman
Based on the game hitman, the movie is looking good and keeping themes from the game. Not entirely sure if the actor playing agent 47 will suit the role, but we will see.

Resident Evil 3Teaser
Third and possibly last in the series, guns and zombies, along with the evil umbrella corporation.

Aliens vs. Predator Requiem
Looking to be a great horror for the end of the year, far better then the first AVP.

Games

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
Looking good, with even more units to cause destruction on a huge scale.

Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
Another great game from THQ, 2 new teams and more WW2 combat.

World in Conflict
One of the biggest releases of the year, with outstanding video clips (FMV's) for between missions and the games intro. Top quality footage.

Many more I could of added, but i'll keep the list short for now Don't forget you can post comments and find further information about the games or movies on FilmSpot and GameSpot

White Chicks
A Non stop comedy movie.

The start was a bit odd with the ice cream shop shootout and the way they (Copeland's) acted.

Once it got into the main story line it was easy to follow and had endless laughs in it.

Submerged
This 'movie' and I use this term lightly here, is a very poor attempt at making an action film.

Everyone in the movie has trouble trying to shoot each other, even with firing automatic weapons at almost point blank range for a few...

Live Free or Die Hard
A Fantastic action movie, from the chain of die hard series. It has the normal action, destruction and explosion as the others had – but updated to modern times.

A nice theme to the movie was the huge use of technology. The...

Soldier
An interesting movie based in the future, where normal soldiers are replaced by genetically stronger ones.

The theme of survival and fighting for his new found home makes for an interesting story, along with the planets unique sand...

The Simpsons Movie
The Simpsons movie was a great laugh and animated well for the big screen. The main story line was good, but a few sub story lines started and just disappeared, which was a bit of a shame, as there was plenty of potential for them (Such as spider...
