For a Bond fan, Casino Royale can be pretty disappointing, but the overall quality of the movie is amazing when compared to other Bond movies.
The main story in Casino Royale is about him having to stop a terrorist from winning a card game with government money on the line, by winning of course. One of the weaknesses of this enviornment, is that watching people play cards really can't be all that entertaining, but thankfully, there are small breaks in between these segments like Bond having to save himself after his drink is poisoned, or having to dispatch a few African hitmen. Then the story evolves into his relationship to the woman he was partnered with during the card game, which eventually leads him into a violent situation filled with betrayal. The evolving story is definatley a plus, but the second part seems dragged out a bit too much.
One thing that's different this time around is that there are no flashy gadgets or cars equipped with ridiculous weapons, Bond almost never even uses a gun in the movie, all the action sequences, though still a bit over the top, are much more down to earth in comparison to what was in the other movies, this could be a plus for the average moviegoer, but for a Bond fan, it could be sort of disappointing.
The new actors are pretty good, but again, whether it's because of the actual writing of the dialogue or just the delivery of the lines, some of the dialogue can sound pretty stupid.
