My life as a Gamer....
Thursday, Nov 19, 2009

I have to be honest and say I have not purchased a new game in the last month or so... still playing some of my older RPG games. But I have to say it's nice to see that the quality of games has improved recently. Of course I am basing this on the GS rating system and player comments, but I would like to think they are accurate enough.

The last few games released have all been 8.5 or higher with players scores being about the same. Especially the new RPG games that have been released this month which is a beautiful site for me, an addicted RPG gamer. I hope this trend continues as once these games go on sale or are reduced in price, I can go pick them up and not be overly dissapointed.

I hope that companies are taking note of this and continue to produce quality games instead of just a high quantity of games.

The best-selling portable system ever is now a hall of famer.

In honor of its revolutionary features and impact on pop culture, Nintendo's original Game Boy has been inducted into The National Toy Hall of Fame.

"Over the past two decades, Game Boy has become synonymous with hand-held gaming fun" the Hall said in a release. "Its portability and efficient design, ability to allow simultaneous multiplayer gaming, and scores of intriguing games (like Tetris and Super Mario Land, featuring Nintendo's already-iconic character Mario) make it a true innovator."

The Game Boy beat out nine othertoys -- including Hot Wheels, Cabbage Patch Kids and the Rubik's Cube -- to earn a spot as one of three inductees in this year'sgroup. The others? The iconic Big Wheel and the ubiquitous "ball," which somehow took a decade before getting the green light. Who's voting on these things, anyway?

Nintendo's potent portable is now the second video game system to earn Hall honors, joining the landmark Atari 2600, which was inducted in 2007.

I was just curious about why people line up at midnight or wait in lines for hours in order to be the "first on the block" with the newly released game. I never understood this concept. If a new game comes out, it will still be available the next morning or even the following week.

I know people will say they have to be the first to beat the game or get the secrets but what happens after that? If you get it right away and beat the game in a week doesn't that kill the whole point of playing the game for fun? I always wait for the new games to be reduced in price and I still appreciate them as much as if I was the first to buy it at the full retail price. I dont need the collectors edition or the special poster that comes with the game, just give me a good game with lots of replay value at a good price and I am happy.

Everyone is over excited about MW2 and I hope it's an amazing game but it will still be just as amazing at $30 as opposed to $60. Maybe it's just me, but I just dont see the hype about owning a game right away at full price. It's possible that with all the online playing time that people log in now-a-days that having the game early will help you when playing against people online, and that would make sense. But if you were good at games in general then you probably wouldn't need all that extra playing time.

I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble with this blog, I just wanted to voice my opinon.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like W8I8Z.
W8I8Z must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could W8I8Z possibly have for not rating a single film?
