First off I've never even beaten an RPG heck I don't even remember the last time I even played one....it's just never been my type of genre but something compelled me to try ME out and well I'm so glad I didn't give up on it after the first 4 hours of playing because the moment I began to understand how all the gameplay elements worked I was hooked....

I'm 3 hours into my next playthrough and well add another person that's jumped on the hype train for ME2

but anyways what I really wanted to ask SWs was which other RGPs do you guys recommend I should try out? I've heard a lot of good things about Fallout 3 and I'm thinking that just might be the next one I try out.

So I rented Mass Effect over the weekend, worse possible weekend to rent it considering it was 4th of July get togethers and what not. I didn't get much time with the game but I'll give my impressions of it anyways.

Alright so I can't remember the last time I even bothered playing an RPG, many of you might not know this but I really don't care for the genre...don't know why that's just me I guess. So yea I decided what the heck, I keep hearing great things about Mass Effect and figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot...

I got 4 hours into the game before having to return it, I know RPGs aren't the best games to rent but I just wanted a little taste to see if I would like it any and well.....hmmm I can't say anything about it really got me hooked. I decided to go straight war hero, gunner since I like those ****of games and what's funny is that I actually found the gameplay mechanics much more fluent then say GeoW2, a true TPS haha. The character moved so smoothly and the shooting was pretty fun but when it came to RPG elements it just felt like a hassle.

I didn't like the whole open world nature of the game...I wish I was kind of pushed foward then having to figure out where I was suppose to go next, I found myself getting lost and fustrated and I didn't find having to sit in an elevator for almost a minute only to realize I went to the wrong area and had to go right back in....

Also I felt the story came at me too quickly, so many names of people and places...also I didn't know becoming a specture was a big deal until I was told haha and when I got my achievement for it

I don't know I wish I could at least beat the game before giving any types of impressions but from what I've played I don't think I'll ever pick the game back up again....

UNLESS someone tells me the story and stuff really pick up from where I left off.
