After a pretty nasty lack of games during the summer, we have seen a really good month for the system and a real reason to buy one this year over the PS3 and the Wii...those systems are great but lack anything close to the great games we already have on the 360.
November we saw Emergence day and it was amazing...GOW is one of the best games overall that I have played in a long time...it feels like it has meat to it and the multiplay is stunning.
Rainbow six is pretty amazing...it is one of those games we bought the system to play...it feels good and feels like you are really shooting live targets that go limp when hit and crumple to the floor.
COD3 is a great revamp of the multiplay but I found myself wanting more out of the single player...it feels to linear and pathed to really be replayable...but as stated...I love the BF2 style multiplayer.
We have the gold standards that are still being bought and played also...GRAW is still a fantastic game and seems to be aging as well as counterstrike...though we will all let it go to play the sequal. Splinter Cell double agent still has great missions that are fun to replay in different ways.
but we have seen some stinkers....
Superman Returns was just horrible...I was expecting a much more complete game and it seemed like we were going to get it...till EA gutted it right before release and left us with a incomplete mess...I just can't trade it in...but I am regretting the purchase none the less.
F.E.A.R is a good game...but it is yesterdays news and feels pretty dated...the to the point gameplay is great on the PC...but without some cool gameplay features (beyond the bullet time) I don't see a reason to not trade it in (I already did).
With the new systems released we have seen all the games we were told we can't play till the PS3 comes out...and we find that it was well worth it overall.
I can't wait to see the games we will be playing in 2007...that will be amazing.
