- Game Nights -

PSN lacks community. There's no game nights held by dev's (if there are, you have to hunt for them via that dev's specific website). There's no tournaments.

There's nothing that symbolizes PSN as having a community. We just all do our own thing and that's about it. I won't even get into Home. Just ugh.

Instead of adding a ton of store icons, some sort of community portal should have been added in. If they can do a pointless ticker that informs me of "girlz" playing games then why can't they work on adding a community aspect to the ps3?

Game nights with prizes (psn cards, codes for betas, etc) would be awesome. Tomorrow's Feature Discussion - Voice Messaging

Stay tuned fellow gamers.

If you have a feature that you feel should be included in this series, pm vix and she'll look to see if it isn't already on her list. If it isn't, she'll add it and discuss it at a later date.

I'd play for prizes...especially Rock Band prizes!

While I agree that perhaps there should be some kind of 'game nights' that take place and are well publicized, I don't understand the 'lacks community' part. Back when I owned a X360 I didn't feel like it was any different expect that it was easier at the time to fill up your friends list because of the higher install base. I guess I don't really understand how you have or lack a community. It would seem to me that via a web site with a forum would be the only way to really achieve that.

PSN does have game nights. The problem is that they all go through Home, and only work with games that support game launching within Home. That's awfully limiting. Not everyone who has a PS3 uses Home, and the number of games that support game launching is pretty small.

@usagi704 On live, things like the 1 vs 100 game nights are like the things I mean.

Agreed. Most of the prizes on the PSN seems to be given to the "elites". Either people who subscribe to or register with something.

It quite interesting to have them as well.
