As much as I love Charmed, I have to admit that the last few seasons (specifically Season 8; due inpart to the studio cutting their budget) were a bit dire; so much potential, but little follow through...
So I ask the question; Did "Charmed" Jump the Shark?
Yes:-
1. The way demons seemed to have trouble responding quickly when it takes Paige ages to orb an energy ball and then throw it back. It would have added a much needed sense of realism if the sisters were exposed to more danger through the use of FASTER DEMONS!
2. The fact that the sisters have died collectively over 20 times throughout the series! They trivialised death to a point where it was no longer a permanent consequence of their actions, and made the death of Prue, less emotional than it could have been.
3. Humour. Of lack thereof. The characters seemingly hilarious anecdotes that are, basically, just cringeworthy...ick!
No:-
1. The introduction of Billie and the mystery of her sister - gave the show a really interesting mythology, similar to that of Mulder and his sister in The X-Files.
2. The finale (episode 8.22 "Forever Charmed"). Brilliant.
3. The premise and most of the episodes were amazing. So that counts for something.
Conclusion:-
So did "Charmed" Jump the Shark; Despite it's may flaws, there's a heart in there. NO, "Charmed" did not jump the shark.

With the new-look TV.com coming thick and fast, I've decided to create my own rating's system. Instead of writing reviews for the actual page, I will criticise shows on my blog.
But don't worry, for those of you who love my work (cue the crickets), I will still write longer reviews on the actual page of the show, but when I can't be bothered to do that, you will have to come here for you daily Victor-of-Dibling fix.
