A lovely gal with eyes that giveaway her intelligence, Kari Matchett was one of the best things about the show, Invasion. I had seen her in the A&E series of Nero Wolfe, in various roles.

The lady can play the icily imperious femme, but, as evidenced in her work as Mariel Underlay, Kari can bring everything else to the party too!

I need to do some digging and get her earlier performances and her bigger Canadian work as well.

As I chose for the rating, this gal can totally run with a series- she ran off with Eddie Cibrian's vehicle (with the equally compelling William Fitchner)!

I wait for her next project excitedly!

I'm a relatively recent convert to the worship of Ms. French. I first saw her in The Vicar of Dibley, her comedy set around a small town with a lady vicar. It quickly became must-see in the household.

Then I saw Murder Most Horrid. It blew my mind, this crazy death-fetish of an anthology! It could be physical comedy one installment and heart-breaking the next. It also made some none too subtle digs at various social subjects, such as ethics, how the elderly are treated,and the environment for example.

It was amazing to me how dense a half-hour show could be, and still give you a big wallop at the end. I mean dense as in tightly-packed; the character's backgrounds and situations were set-up so swiftly and skillfully that it didn't sink in how much you were trying to absorb until the credits were rolling. It was a gas!

I know ther are many more roles to see her in- Girls on Top, anything with Ms. Saunders, and the divine sounding Let Them Eat Cake, for example- and I enjoyed her role in the Harry Potter movies, brief though it is.

I hope that I can see her in more projects in the future too!

I only know Greg Grundberg from his work on Alias, and was one of the handful of folks concerned when he was shot in the throat.

I only know Greg Grundberg from his work on Alias, and was one of the handful of folks concerned when he was shot in the throat.

I have come to really enjoy Eric Weiss, funny pal and secret agent ("You're undercover, aren't you?") who was finally allowed a bit of character freedom last season. We've seen Weiss play confidante to buddy Michael Vaughn, have a crush on Sydney himself, as new buddy to Marshall, giving Jack funny comebacks- and live, as well as the scariest role to take-potential son-in-law to Arvin Sloane! There was lots of good lines given to Weiss, but he was also allowed to kick butt and fire weapons as well.

Still, there was an exciting iron in the fire- a pilot for a PI series with Don Rickles as his dad!
The pilot did not sell, and Alias fans were glad to see Weiss around a bit longer. Still, it'd be great to see him branch out into other roles, if not other genres, like the Private Investigator genre.

The devoted dad and husband would be a cool choice for a family drama, especially if there was a healthy dose of comedy! He's very much a leading man, a guys can identify with and ladies seem to find very cute.

So,here's to Greg Grundberg! I know I'll follow Mr.Grundberg to whichever role he plays.

I have watched this lovely actress work on soaps and in guest roles in various shows, including Babylon 5, where she was a Minbari playwright and poet.

Under all the latex, Ms. Grahn was able to connect and pull folks into her character's story, which as a guest, turned into Delynn's story. Still, without the extra bell and whistles, the woman is a great actress who can make any material shine. Just tune into her current show, the once-proud General Hospital, and see how she takes a two minute scene and gives it a spark and texture. Sadly, she usually seems alone in doing that, but that is a rant for another place.

The woman plays smart, savvy gals who make their own rules and the world ends up compromising a bit more than she.

In a tv world where the young and those not afraid to bare nearly everything seems to be prevailing, Ms. Grahn can still be sexy, smart, tough, and everything else folks like about their favorite characters- including flawed!- and still act circles around many around her.

This woman needs her own cadre of writers so that she can be showcased as the Emmy-nominated actress she is.

I went with the classification I did because I feel that Mr. Worthy has barely had a chance to really show his acting chops where lots of folks could appreciate him.

I went with the classification I did because I feel that Mr. Worthy has barely had a chance to really show his acting chops where lots of folks could appreciate him.

Latest example? Eyes, the smart, funny PI drama that ABC tossed after a truncated run in late Spring. In that show, Mr. Worthy had a showcase charater in Chris Didion- a friend of the boss, a man who has faced mental health issues and won, a black gay man in the world of private security, and a potential target by foes of his friend and boss, played by Tim Daly.

There was a scene where I fell madly for Chris, despite being white and straight: it was when he confronted the skinhead who was terrorizing a client in trying to stop testimony against the guy and other skinhead friends who had beaten a man. After slapping the young man's head and the typical threat of retaliation, Chris's answer made my heart smile.

"You're gonna do what?"

I don't remember the rest; I was marvelling at the smarts the writing gave this man. While I generally don't like vengeance, I can understand it. I understand the need to do something to help someone else. I also feel that you can disapprove of a character's actions and cheer the character nonetheless. Hypocritical? Maybe, but when it comes to fictional character within their tv universe, I don't care.

Mr. Worthy also brought a sly, understated wit to the role, which he played as part-friend, part-babysitter to Harland, who could get into trouble without trying hard. Chris found someone worth befriending, and staying loyal to, so Harlan was worth our interest as well.

I hope to see more appearances of Mr. Worthy, he is delightful to watch and deserves a wider audience.

Mr. Zuberi is a tall man with a wonderful voice; it's warm tones get your attention. Yet it's the man's palpable child-like enthusiasm and intensity that bring you along when he is off to answer a question for the History Detectives.

Mr. Zuberi is a tall man with a wonderful voice; it's warm tones get your attention. Yet it's the man's palpable child-like enthusiasm and intensity that bring you along when he is off to answer a question for the History Detectives.

There have been a few times I have had the show on and thought, 'I don't think that's too cool,' but as Mr. Zuberi keeps digging and finding more clues and answers, you can start to go 'Oh, that IS neat,' and find yourself interested despite your initial misgivings.

He makes history interesting as he, like a good storyteller, relates what he finds in a way that the audience can understand. I loved the Revolutionary War story, where a woman's ancestor ended up fleeing to Canada and the show was able to reunite the two branches of the family.

I hope that we continue to have Mr. Zuberi work on the History Detectives' cases for a while!

I remember one of Dillon Quartermaine's early scenes- he is asked to allow cute Georgie Jones to kiss him in a scheme to keep her sister and cousin off her back about a date.

It was cute, a funny way for a young couple to start off, and both characters are second- or third- generation core family characters we've seen grow up.

Scott brings a lovely passion for old movies and all things movie-related. As a fellow movie fan, I appreciate how easily and believably Scott's Dillon throws off lines about movies older than he is. He also, in the typically twisted Quartermaine way, loves his family- particularly his mother and brother. Scott interacts so easily and naturally with Wally Kurth, as Ned, and the dynamic Jane Elliott, as Tracy, that you can believe their relationships.

Sadly, Scott has had to play a mind-boggling teenage erectile dysfunction storyline; it was not a stufy of the problem and played for laughs. (Dillon was "cured" after a talk with his big brother's ex-wife!)

He shined in scenes with Ted King's Lorenzo Alcazar, Tony Geary's Luke, and, IMO< scenes with Stuart Damon's Alan Quartermaine. Yet he is relegated to 'just' the teen stories. Yet, even there, Scott has been left friendless outside of Georgie; a friendship with Diego might just surprise all involve with a good story for the two young leads.

As to his music, if he is as talented in that area as he seems in acting, he should have many career options in his future!

Curently, Paul Guilfoyle is the wise-cracking, jaded policeman, Captain Jim Brass, on CSI. In light of tonight's Season 5 repeat, I thought I'd sing the man's praises a little.

Brass is the first role I became aware of the actor. He is a believer in science and Grissom's sometimes wacky methods, but he is his own man and has painfully disagreed with his friend.

Mr. Guilfoyle brings an anchoring presence to Grissom and his fellow criminalists, but he also is good for a one-liner or to share the rare adult beverage with Grissom. He put out a friendly word to Sara, and has worked smoothly with Warrick and Nick.

I have enjoyed Mr. Guilfoyle as Brass, so I will be seeking out and stopping down to see his other performances too!

As one of the agents worked over by Arvin Sloane, and the Sloane clone of Season Four, on Alias, Carl Lumbly's Agent Marcus Dixon is truly a stealth weapon!

As one of the agents worked over by Arvin Sloane, and the Sloane clone of Season Four, on Alias, Carl Lumbly's Agent Marcus Dixon is truly a stealth weapon!

We've seen the family man deal with the loss of his long-time wife, the kidnapping of his children, the seeming betrayal of several co-workers and a promotion and demotion in his department.

It might've been harder for the amazing Mr. Lumbly if he hadn't served quiet notice during his run as Mark Petrie in Cagney & Lacey and proved his ability to command the screen as Dr. miles Hawkins, a.k.a. M.A.N.T.I.S.! There was a doctor role in the short-lived Going To Extremes.

In his scenes last season on Alias, he sizzled with Angela Bassett; he also brought a palpable contented, settled-in love for Dix's wife, Diane. The tone when she was taken from him would pierce the heart of anyone who's fallen in love.

It's easy to laud his parts, as he makes the men he inhabits feel real, guys you would want to hang out with and have a drink or two with. He goes from good husband and father to concerned friend to quiet assassin to raging-at-the-universe-and-you're-in-the-way, sometimes, even in the same episode!

I'd just babble on, like the fangirl I am, so I'll just suggest strongly to stop down and watch this lovely man do all sorts of things, even a bit unlovely, and find yourself another to-watch actor!

Marj Dusay is emminently watchable, no matter the role!

She was given the thankless role of the smart-dumb woman who steals Mr. Spock's titular brain! "Brain and brain! What is brain!!' her plaintive cry still echoes and gets giggles even today. Yet, seeing her in the role, you realize she is quite the looker!

I remember her as Washington matron, Myrna Clegg in Capitol, a relatively short-lived soap opera on CBS in the 80s. It was delicious,as was Myrna with her scheming and plotting and catty remarks- no one was safe from Myrna, least of all her husband and son! As much as I loved Carolyn Jones as Myrna, Marj brought a similar deliciously snideness to the role.

When Marj was to step into Beverlee McKinsey's well-heeled shoes as Alexandra Spaulding, on Guiding Light, I ws pleased- not many could do justice with the role, but I was certain Ms. Dusay was right for it. I was proven right, as she is back for another go with Alexandra.

Marj also had a stint on All My Children, but I don't watch that show, and feel unqualified to discuss her performance there. I am sure, though, that she was a consummate professional.

She is doubtless a very hirable actress, so she has no doubt guested on many shows, probably shows you have watched! Keep an eye out for those guest society matrons- one might be Marj!

Patrick Bauchau is one of the more elegant actors around.

My first glimpse of him was as Archon Raine in Kindred:The Embraced, a wonderful, over-the-top vampiric drama/soap. Yet, the gravity didn't come from the lead, it came from his mentor and advisor, Archon. This elegant European gentleman brought an air of dignity to the sometimes far-out vampire politics. The sacrifice Archon makes at the end of the run, if you watch all the episodes, not only seems soapily enevitible, but a bit heart-breaking.

Mr. Bauchau next won me over with his Sydney on The Pretender. I loved that show, not just for Jarod, but for Sydney's handling of the entire situation; of the playing everyone so that he could do the best for the most. His scenes with Miss Parker (the sublime Andrea Parker),were wonderful and usually could elicit a giggle or a 'geez, Syd!' out of me.

I recently saw part of his appearance on House, and was not at all amzaed that I wasn't fond of Dr. Chase, the elder, very much. Yet, I understood him- the mark of a good actor. (Of course, good scripts help, but that's for another place and time!)

I will be a fan of Patrick Bauchau's for as long as I can. Watch him wherever you can!

My curiosity was richly rewarded with Georgia Rae Mahoney! She was as elegant and deadly as a shark, with a grin to match. She had a wicked sense of humor, which was used to taunt our heroes. I was sold and have been a fan since then.

I hope to see her in a lead role soon, as I think she could handle it.

A beautiful, statuesque lady who should have more of a chance to make us laugh one minute and quake in out boots the next!

Timothy D. Stickney, as the multi-layered club-owner/criminal/devoted family man RJ Gannon, is criminally underused even in his own storylines!

I will not rant, though it will be hard to not do so. I love the character for his complexities. I have not yet heard any of his music, though, sadly. Mr. Stickney brings a dignity to his work on One Life To Live, which is appreciated by many.

From RJ's sibling rivalry with his DA brother Hank to his friendships with Hank's lawyer ex, Nora Hannen, as well as Lindsey Rappaport and Dorian Lord to his devotion to his daughter Keri and granddaughter Jaimie, Mr. Stickney has brought many emotions and conflict to the various stories he's been in.

Now if the writers wise up and give us the wonderful story of Lindsey and RJ deciding to be an official couple and raise Jaimie!

Mark Harmon has been an eternal crush of mine since the police show, Sam, back in 1978.

The athletic, golden California looks came naturally- his father was a college football player of elite levels and his mother was a beauty (just look at Mr. Harmon's sisters!)

Mark can play anything, but like John Wayne, you get the feeling that he is playing himself, or some side of himself. That's how easy he makes the job look.

Mr. Harmon has tended to play law enforcement folk: from his K-9 police officer to his Emmy-nominated Secret Service gig on The West Wing to his current role of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS. He also has played rule-bending private investigators as well.

A classic man's man, at least on screen, he can project an easy-going way or antense, A-Type workaholic with an appreciation of the ladies.

May we always have a chance to visit with Mark on a weekly basis.
