I reckon it was a crime of passion; it seems strange the wife just "happened" to be driving along the road at that time. I reckon the teacher caught the bear and his wife "in flagrante delicto"; the bear tried to escape, the teacher had to catch him after grabbing his bike and the wife had to get dressed again before following in the car to find out the outcome.
The wife will say it wasn't her idea and that the bear just happened to be there but its all her fault really... I've seen it all before.
