A strong recurrent thought of mine on are passive consumerist society has been the steady decline in knowledgeable enquiry. I remember in my days of apprenticeship when I observed a general apathy in the students remarks and disposition to anything intellectually provoking. They stood there engulfed in there materialistic musings. Reminiscing of the days past of things they wanted and even more things they wished they had.
A perpetual state of craving for things to keep them entertained long enough until they can earn more printed paper to buy more things. All this a continuous dance to keep there minds off there often mundane and insignificant jobs required to propagate the statist society. Maybe there needs to be a Ubermensch in are society to escape the degradation we are slowly going through. Nietzsche might have noted long before me, the nihilism seen before the continuous propagation of the slave morality of religion. It is however dually noted the dangers and threat of the master morality that Nietzsche invokes. An infusion of priority is long before due as the state holds its proprietary labourers in tow.
A liberal society has posited an insurmountable amount of freedoms and capitulations of value in the same swift stroke. However conducive apathy and meekness is for the state, it is destructive to the acquisition of Ubermensch. We can not depend on the state itself to infuse the neo-master morality as in the act of doing so it will surely seize the opportunity to further instruct a slave morality in its image. The source of this renaissance of prioritization of knowledge is a problematic equation when merged with government and even more hopeless when left to the masses.
