MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift

-Hi, I'm Brandon from gaming world magazine, I'm hear with Arthur, video game expert. and we are here to talk about some new and upcoming games...How are you Arthur?

-Good and u Brandon were here today to look at MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift

Q: I'm doing well, thanks. yes today we are looking at MS2. This is a much anticipated exclusive ps3. so tell us, what's new about this game that makes it better than the first?

A: Well ahuge missing thing in the Prequel was the lack of a spilt screen mode...who doesn't love sitting next to your friend and grinding each other to see who can win....Well lucky for MS2 there is going to be a 4 player split screen mode....Another new aspect to this game is the destructible and interactive environments..

-Now how in-depth is the interactive environment.. is it limited to certain plants and objects or is this more of a "see it - break it" sort of thing?

-Well right now it dose seem like a more of seek and break...but we haven't scene much footage of this yet. when we do ill let you know

Graphics:

Arthur: Graphics are just slightly better than the first game...

Brandon: graphics are SLIGHTLY better..*I had to emphasize the slight part*

Story:

Arthur: Hope there is something more to it...

Brandon:ms2 doesn't really even have a story. but I hope Single player isn't as boring

Online:

Arthur: There is really nothing different...well I guess there is the new monster truck **** but ill rarely use those..

Brandon:If the online is the same as ms1 then its not going be too fun

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty is a follow-up game to Tools of Destruction. Only $15, but is the quest worth the booty?

Presentation
This being my first Ratchet & Clank game, I didn't know what to expect. There really isn't many menus to traverse, however it is a downloadable game which is most likely the reason. All-and-all the game is easy to start up and makes it easy to start on your quest for the booty... or shall I say, Clank!

Graphics
Once again, this being my first Ratchet & Clank game, I didn't know what to expect as far as the graphics went. I was hoping for a somewhat look-alike to that of Crash Bandicoot, but was I in for a real treat! After a short cut-scene the game started, well at least it did but I never realized it. I actually watched the game screen because I thought it was still in a cut scene. I moved the left analog stick to find out that I was actually playing the game. The graphics are simply amazing! Enough said. Best graphics on the PS3 from a downloadable game by far!

Sound
From the sound effects of the game to the random sayings of the friends and foes you meet, everything sounds great! While there is a lack of music tracks, the action sounds of the game do more than make up for it. Every smash and crash is heard and brings the joy of playing the game to an even higher level.

Gameplay
Controls are easy to master and are tight and responsive. From grinding the rails to fighting off foes, the controls work to perfection. Only bad thing is the lack of many weapons and there upgradeability. I've played through the game twice on easy mode and only managed to upgrade one weapon twice. The only other bad thing would be the camera that doesn't always work. The only time I really had a problem with it was during the final boss battle. You might see what I mean when you get there.

Lasting Appeal
Depending on your skill, it will probably take you about 3 to 4 hours to complete the game. There is a few hidden goodies too if you can manage to find them. I've beat the game twice now and really haven't had the urge to put it down yet. I'm sure it could get boring after awhile, but for now it will keep me busy.

Final Score
8.5/10
