Hello everyone,

as most of the people on my msn list already know, last weekend I got to go to a gaming expo for free! (Because I'm in Game Development, go figure.)

I was expecting...something different.

The ratings of the expo, say it's 'fifth' in the running of gaming expos with E3 in the top space (Number 1). So i expected somewhat of a dummed down E3 experience.

That's definitely not what I got.

The expo was more for people to enter in some awesome competitions and tryout some games, not really with industry heads presenting some new material.

There was some sweet technology there though! The new notebook pen, where it can help you do math, etc. I got to play with. The draws were yesterday, so I guess I didn't win

Also a tablet monitor! A monitor built and designed like a tablet, that has pin point aqcuracy! But most of this stuff was already revealed before the expo on tv or in magazines. It was fun to actually try them out though. (I doodled a picture that remained on the system all weekend haha).

There was no Sony. NOTHING with Sony. no ps3 games, no psp stuff, nothing! Nintendo Wii and Xbox was there..but no Sony. DAMN IT SONY START SMARTENING UP!!

*cough* Anyway,

I got to play Guitar Hero for the first time, and totally got hooked! (Went out and bought guitar hero 2 right after). I played some DDR, but got spanked in it by my friend Maggie.

Also got my picture taken with THEE master chief! LMAO~ For most of you,you know how I feel about Halo 3 and how over rated it is.

It was a lot of fun, and in no way a waste of time. (Just wish my friends were better at deciding what to do..I had to decide everything. Man i feel like a leader with these women!)

But then again, my class of 6 women including me, I'm probably the topfemale gamer in the class hands down. (Except maybe Courtney..she beats me in the xbox section of gaming, no problem there!).

So Ya, it's probably only natural gamer girls follow me for ideas, hahahahaha.

As I promised, I will put up a picture or two from the Expo. If anyone was watching Toronto News where they reflected on the Expo, I was the blonde playing guitar hero against the black haired girl XD

FFVII: Crisis Core was released in japan today, (very happy about that) and I can already see from the trailers, cut scenes and opening videos/battle scenes it's going to be amazing! (http://www.adventchildren.net/ for downloadable scenes)

I'm so excited! I hope they make the english version soooon. (or i'll just get the japanese version )

Sucks to all u people who don't own a psp yet! haha!

Oh, one of the rumors going around is you can switch to the japanese voice actors in the Crisis Core game English version...it's not confirmed, but some of the english voices (like monotone Aeris, and crappy Tifa) are terrible. Vincent's annoys me greatly too. Cloud could use some more emphasis on his words/ screaming. If i can switch to english subtitles and japanese voices...i'll give it a 10/10 right now!! lol!!

They also say that there's clues to an ff7 remake after you beat the game twice...

Now, i know i harped on the fact i don't want a remake this soon...

I WILL be fine with it only IF they keep EVERYTHING the same as from the original. So Cid and barret swearing (bleep it out if u don't like it ), Cloud cross dressing...and maybe add some little extras for us veterans from the original.

If they leave out stuff, cut things out like cid's swearing, don't give aeris a nice bloody death...i will be VERY VERY angry at square enix. And for the love of gawd S-E LET the original plot creator of FFVII HELP with the remake! u let them with crisis core, but not with DOC!.

anyway...

i honestly can't wait!

I also bought Tomb Raider Aniversary...i love the original TR sooo much and it's similar to the original with extras and cool graphics...come on S-E, keep ff7's remake like that. (if the remake rumors are true)

I'm not big on reading forums or blogs on gamespot, (only certain people's) so if this has been told, I really don't care.

As most of you know, I'm pursuing a career in game design, and I'm currently in the best school for game design in ontario (if any of you say Algonquin, I'll shoot you in the toe...Algonquin's program is terrible..but i'll get into that at a later date.)

Most of my proffesors have designed games of some sort, and one of them has designed a class called 'history of games'

Most people don't know it dates back to 1889; i certainly didn't know. It was a very interesting class, surprisingly there is a lot more to know then most people think.

One main point was the real fall of Sega.

Everyone blames sony, and that ps2 left dreamcast in the dust and sega was ruined.(Most of my friends think this...including you AA7, i remember our discussions lol. but i love our conversations! Not knocking them at all man )

This is NOT true.

Sony had one of the worst launch in the history of systems, and no one cared about the system until almost two years after it's release. (And later would pull to be the best system of last gen)

Sega, well committed suicide basically. Sega was massively creating systems, and eventually created a financial black hole, where they didn't make any money. Dreamcast was AMAZING and had sooo much potential, but Sega decided to pull something no other console company did. They committed suicide, stopping all release of consoles and product of consoles. And went solely to making video games for all of their competitors. That's right, they made video games exclusively for their rivals.

What happened?

Sega is now a multi million dollar company. It worked, and no company has been able to do it since. (Atari failed..lol)

Although Dreamcast's potential was crazy, they saw a risk shot and took it.

Ultimately, they didn't get crushed or beat out by any console. They crushed themselves.

And thats part of what i learnt first day in history of games...i am going to LOVE this class!!!! (it's also a one of a kind class in ontario, because algonquin doesn't focus on as far back, or as detailed...i know, i sat in on a class. )

And no, please i've had too many ppl request to see my work, know what we're doing, etc. I can give you HINTS on what u need to do to get into college, or what Game developer's want. HOWEVER, the work i am doing will not be released on this, DA or anywhere on the net until my third year. (This is to protect myself from internet copying, plagerizing, etc that has been done with various of stuff i designed...and is now on newgrounds, stolen by friends/ people i don't even know...but i won't get into that.)

ESPECIALLY my game characters that i draw...those will no longer be released on the net, as i had a few times kids stealing them, or using them to get into colleges and universities.

If you're saying 'oh wow, who would want your stuff?'
a) u haven't seen the level of stuff i've done now
b) i was told directly by many professors of colleges and universities..(including2 who are in the industry for major companies in vancouver...they're stationed in vancouver not that the companies there) that my designing and character designing (again u wont see until third year) have strong potential and i'm to keep in contact with them with various updates.

So yes, i have had stuff stolen...like character maps, height ratios, flash videos etc and i'm stopping that now so that companies don't think i'm the one who copied.

So no get to see anything i'm doing. And anyone in GD course should be doing this as well.
