I'm sure that by now, msot people here in Australia have seen that Big W is having their huge toy sale and they are selling the 360 arcade pack for $270. I have really been debating with myself whether or not to get it. I want a new pc and at the same time I want a Wii. Here is what I've been thinking
- With a 360, I will be able to play some really great games, mainly racing games, sports, fighting games and maybe a couple of shooters (CoD 2 and 3, don't care for halo).
- A lot of games on 360 are on PC anyway, but then again I would still prefer playing racing games and sports games on a console rather than PC. PC takes top priority when it comes to FPS games.
- I was sort of feeling that the 360 would make my computer useless, but then thought that my PC would still be useful for shooters and online gaming. (I cbf with XBL, too many kids
)
- A wii would be great, my sister wants one as well, and my parents could also get involved. The Wii still has some great games but I'm not liking some of the directions that devs and nintendo haev taken.
- This is an awesome deal, for $270 a 360, also a HDD is $80, so if I want, I can essentially buy a pro pack for $350. It won't be at this price for long and when the sale is over, it won't happen again until either next July or until another price drop which could be two years away
- I feel that the 360 and Wii are two completely different consoles and would be great to have both, so maybe I can make a deal with my sister that I buy the 360 and she buys the Wii.
- I don't want a PS3 anymore as it really is too much like a 360. If we had both a 360 and a Wii then we could have 2 consoles for $670, which is cheaper than the PS3. ![]()
Looking at this list here, the 360 is becoming a bit more like a good idea. I still don't know what to do. Is the 360 still too much like a computer? The Wii would be great for the family. What do I do?
I've made over 2k from working and I can handle spending the $270 for the 360.
It's been about 4 weeks since I last blogged and I finally decided to get off my arse and sit down to write a blog.
Well first off I guess I should write about one of the most improtant events of this year, THE SIMPSONS! Yep, I was at the new Plenty Valley shopping centre yesterday and I came across the JB after walking past it once because I was too busy looking at how high the ceiling is. Anyway I've been looking around for The Simpsons Season 6 and 8 DVD collections at a good price. I finally found them on the EzyDVD website at 30 bucks each. I was gonna go there today but what for? I found them at JB yesterday. I've watched the first 5 episodes from season 6 and it's been great. Easily the best $60 I have ever spent.
In other news my mid-year school report came on Tuesday. I still haven't looked through it yet because all I really care about are the exam results. Here is what I predicted in my last blog:
Italian - 80%
Science - 85%
History - 50%
Maths - 40%
English - Hoping 60%, considering last year's 45%.
Here are this year's results.
Italian - 68%
Science - 75%
History - 48%
Maths - 26%
English - 75%
The only subject I care much about there was English, because I really wanted to improve over last year's results, and I did.
Also I bought Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones and Hitman Contracts. They are both good, but I have mainly been playing PoP. It's fun. That's about it. For my next blog I will post up the parts I have selected for building a computer.
The title of this blog is quoted from Homer when Bart and Lisa convince him to buy them a pool.
Episode: 'Bart of Darkness', Season Six.
Finally, the exams have come and gone. I had English last thursday, Maths and Italian on friday and lastly, Science and History were today. I'm hoping that I get somewhere around these results.
English - I don't know what I got, but I really hope I got around 60%, considering last year's 45%
Maths - I think I got around 40%. I'm sort of happy with that.
Italian - 80%
Science - 85%
History - 50%
If I got those scores I would be kind of happy. In other news, I have decided to continue with Adv. maths next semester. I chose to go with the advice of Foolz3h and aaronmullan and continue and work harder.
Anyway, I finished San Andreas when I got home today, well the storyline part anyway. It was a good game, but I'm only at 62% completion so far. There is a long way to go yet, but I have plenty of time to play now seeing as I don't have to worry so much about school.
I've been watching some Simpsons lately (season 7). Damn, it's an awesome show.
And uh, that's about it, take care now, bye bye then.
