Why are Sony fans so amped about Blue Ray? I can see disc space but when did disc space become an issue? Developers hardly use the space availible now, so why have it?It just seems like to me that Sony is trying to force another media onto their gamers. Blue Ray is a new technology as most know, but why dont they just use it for a later system? How many gamers that are non-hardcore Sony fans will buy a $599.99 console that dont care about the DVD playback feature? I know they're using it for their games, but it just seems petty to buy a game system with all these extra features that not everyone will use. But what if Blue Ray flops like Betamax and UMD's, then the whole Blue Ray DVD player would be useless, well not completly to the ones that bought the movies. But i won't be buying a PS3 for a very long time and won't judge the ones that will.
