Ok so we have all seen those posts in the PS3 forum..you know...the "how did you feel when you got your PS3?" posts.

I haven't thought about it for a while now that OPENING DAY feeling and I was doing some editing on pictures and came across this pic of me opening up the PS3.  I was so stupidly happy about having one and you should be able to tell that from the dumbfounded look on my face in the pics in my images.  I had been talking about it non-stop and my wife had tried very valiantly to get me one even bidding on e-bay after I expressly told her not to.  I knew there was no point in paying a premium because Sony had stated they were pumping them out to meet demand and it would have made me sick to pay some price gouging puke profit just to run into one in a store a month or two later.  I was prepared to wait.

I was helping my mother-in-law do some Christmas shopping and we had been out all day our last stop was Costco before heading home.  We walked in grabbed our cart and there it was.  A crappy little card table set up with one empty 60G PS3 box on it.  I didn't even want to go near the display because I felt sick thinking of spending that much on myself two days before Christmas.  I caved in faster than a pop can under an elephant.  A tiny little handwritten sign said "ask associate for ticket".  I went over and asked if they had any left.  The guy says "oh yeah no-one has even notice our little display we have 20 left.  We didn't even know we were getting them until noon today".  I walked away with a sick feeling in my gut.  We went through the whole store did our thing and stopped to grab a hot dog and sure enough a family pulls up beside us to eat and what do they have in the cart?  Yep, I almost reached out and touched the box I am pathetic

We left and headed home and as soon as we walked in the door at home my mother-in-law starts telling my wife how they had PS3's in stock at Costco and my wife looks at me incredulously and says "why didn't you buy one???".  I tell her I am going to wait and spending that much on myself at Christmas is kind of disgusting and would take away from my enjoyment.  As we are bickering about it my father-in-law walks in on the conversation and says "go back and get one its on me...Merry Christmas!".  At this point I am about to throw up and my wife is laughing maniacally while my mother-in-law is threatening to go back and get it without me.  I again cave in sort of like a Smurf would in a fight against Kratos.

When we got home they were all hassling me to open it right away but I wanted to savour the moment.  I sat with it for an hour before I opened the box not only because I had a PS3 but also because my wife and in-laws had gone to such great length's to give me something that they knew nothing about and didn't understand just because they wanted me to be happy.  A special feeling to be sure and don't think for one second that I haven't thought about kicking my own a$$ for being spoiled!!

If you look in my images http://www.gamespot.com/users/Trek5200/view_image?id=a4NbtBR17hmU4hvm  you will see a pic of me holding it and you should notice a slightly glazed look in my eyes that my friends is sheer dumb happiness and I wrote this for all of us who have had that experience and occasionally forget about it.  I for one want to make sure I never forget how good it felt to open that box just because of the day and the people that surrounded it.

OK here we go.....not locked and modded

This is a formal apology to the Mods and Admin staff of Gamespot.  I have been complaining for weeks and weeks to the mods about the PS3 Trolls.  I have also been joined by several others in my rants against said trolls.  You will notice in my previous blogs that I was somewhat bitter about the lack of moderation that certain trolls have received.

I NOW STAND CORRECTED!  Some of our biggest Trolls have since been BANNED

I would love to let my head swell up and think that I had something to do with it but I seriously doubt that.  So a heartfelt apology to the moderators is in order.....

I do apologize for thinking none of you were paying attention to our complaints.  I apologize for my jabs at you in my blog.

I can't even tell you that humble pie tastes bad because I am still smiling at the thought that PS3 boards just got a little bit cleaner and a little bit better.

I don't like the idea of someone NOT being able to post on Gamespot but I like the idea of them spending all their time picking on a product on said products board a WHOLE LOT LESS.

Ohhh and Mods......please note I took your advice and have recently been quite a bit more gentle with the Trolls   I hope you appreciate the break in having to mod and lock me

Ok now many of you think of me as the Troll bully, pushing them around and picking on them....ok I am the Troll bully and I feel REALLY REALLY BAD ABOUT THAT.

Here is the best advice I can give to ANYONE on the forums.  Not sure what to make of a persons post?  Not sure what they are all about or what they really believe.  Of course you aren't who can be from one paragraph or sentence or comment!

Look up the person, click on their name.  Once you pull up their name then you pull up Contributions.  One more step here folks I know I ask a lot of you....click on Forum posts.  The first page will open up with I believe 19 comments from them.  At the bottom of the page is another button for All My Forum Posts and there you have it JACKPOT.

This is where you can see the nitty gritty of a poster.  Troll not a Troll, idiot not an idiot etc etc etc.  Each and every post will give you a better understanding of that person and their opinion as biased and ignorant as it may be.

NOW here it is ......I never ever bully a suspected Troll until I look through pages of their history.

By the way my history is wide open if you feel like taking a look and as always I welcome your comments especially if you are someone I have picked on or someone who has modded me

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Trek5200.
Trek5200 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Trek5200 possibly have for not rating a single film?
