Well my summer is almost halfway done and I can say it has been unusual. The most obvious difference is that there is a new kid in town, the baby. He has grown so fast in one month, almost two pounds since we left the hospital. We still can't tell what color his eyes are gonna be. Some days they are grey blue, some days green or even brownish. Baby J was born with brown hair, but it's beginningto fallout. Blonde hair in his future?

The other big difference is that for the first time in a decade, I'm not working during the summer. I have always had a second job as long as I have been teaching. Kind of miss it though, moneys has gotten tight and we're stuck at home for the moment.Thank goodness for Netflix. That's has nothing to do with a new baby, there has been too many birthdays, anniversaries and a beach trip all in June. It's just been a tough month. Matty said he worked at a fireworks stand for a while and I wonder if I can find a job similar to that, where I can just work a day or two, just for the summer. Just something to give me a little extra cash.

Summer is too hot so I hide in the a/c. They do grow fast and start to stay alert more and more. I'm sure you could find a job like that if you really wanted one but the good news is you're almost back to school.

I'm actually looking forward to going back, to give me something to do. Sad, isn't it?

I know the feeling. Having something to do is almost needed in the long run. I hope the summer isn't too hot for you. Here it has been way to hot, but that changed into rain and a lot colder weather this week.

Nice to hear an update bout your baby.

Hope you can get a part time job for some extra loot in your pocket. Good to hear that the baby is doing good, as well.

Best of luck finding a summer gig. Netflix would rock if they only send the movies at the top of the list ?

You could always try working at JC Penneys and the hell that is retail .

You know your tyke's eye color change almost sounds like he's not human . Look out!

My best friend teaches as well, and he is going nuts with all of the spare time. Outside of taking his kid to swim practice every morning, he has nothing to do. I like the idea of all that free time, but I bet the reality of it can be pretty boring.

Yes it is. I'm depressed because vacation will soon be ending.

Yeah, babies grow like crazy. It's pretty nuts if you think about it. Hope you find a part-time job.

Glad to hear that things are going decent for you. Once again, congrats on the child. I bet its a blast. Hope everything continues to work out for you. Especially on the job front. I'm trying to find a decent job while deciding what I want to do in regards to schooling.

Good to hear an update on little Travo. As for work, I have one official week left, but I am barely there at the moment. Just decided to take most of my remaining holiday as half days. Then I too will be joining the "sitting around doing nothing" club. Oh well.

Yeah kids do grow up fast. I wish I could find the money and time to hit the beach this year.

My summer's been extremely boring. It's about a quarter finished, but it seems like it will be one that I'll easily forget.

I hope that your money problems won't last long...
