MW2

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is now out. Does it live up to the hype that everyone has put into it, or is it ho-hum? I will try to give my take on this new installment.

I rented it on PS3 actually, didn't buy it. I am glad now, considering the SP is only about 5-10 hours long, depending on what difficulty you put it on. The graphics are good, a tad bit better than COD4. The guns look better, but the blood splatter you get is kinda annoying to be honest. Some may find this a great new feature, but I could have lived with the option to turn it off. But the enviromental effects are what catches the eye. Snow blows and looks real ( I am running the game on a 52" Samsung on 1080P) and everything else looks good. Really brings your surroundings into perspective.

I havent played a whole lot yet, but it is pretty good so far. The story isn't the best, but the gameplay is standard COD. So if you liked any of the other COD games you will like this one. I do like the spec-op missions. I am a fan of the Rainbow Six games and this feels kinda like RSV2 at times. Good feature they have implimented into this game. But there are bad things with the game I have noticed. mainly the trophy feature. It is a no-go if you update with the new patch. If you play without the new patch they will work fine. Hopefully Infinity Ward is looking into this bug. It also caused my PS3 to not view trophies or to update them via the PSN. But the problem seems to have remedied it's self.

I will go more in depth into this on a review I will do soon. But so far it's a pretty solid shooter with a wide selection of guns and add-ons for them and great enviro-effects. I havent tried MP yet, but I havea feeling the more experienced players in the game will own the lower ranked people. At least I have read on reviews. Too bad they cant find opponents based on your in game rank. CODMW2 is hyped in alot of ways, but is good in others. My opinion is if you are a fan of the COD series then it is a must buy. But if you are a FPS gamer and want to see if it is worth the hype then rent it or gamefly it. Hard to justify the $60 on it, but who knows. I am sure that alot of DLC will be on the way. But I can see them bundling it all on one disc for the same price, ala Gears 2 and Fallout 3.

All-in-all I would give it a 8.3 so far. I won't give a true score until I get more involed in the game. But as far as the PS3 version goes, the trophy bug is a big fluke for something so small. Not that it's a game killer or anything, but an inconvenience in todays trophy and achievement world. Don't let all the negative reviews dis-sway you from playing this good FPS. As always opinions and whatnot are more than welcomed.

Jolt Cola

It has been a while since I posted anything on here, or spent any real time here. To tell you the truth I was burned out with trying to do work, this site and everything else that I have to do. So as you can see, Jolt Cola is helping me throughout the days! I have still been playing games, I bought Borderlands, Halo 3 ODST, and Demons Souls. I have also been playing Forza 3, not a bad racing game. Maybe I will review one of these games and see if I can still write.

Sometimes life takes its toll on you. Trying to commit all the hours to do the articles, stories and dealing with work and everything in-between just was too much. But I have been on hiatus and am feeling better, not as burned out as before. Kinda like a writer going to the woods to write the new novel and living like a hermit to get it done.

So if anyone cares I am back for a while and will see what happens. And yeah, Jolt cola is great to drink!LOL. I think all the unions and whatnot will seem alien to me now. Probably been alot of changes and whatnot since I have been gone. Hopefully they are all going well and flurishing.

Yep, I bought my second PS3 to date, I sold the first, lol. It's the new slim model. I wanted the older system for the looks, but the newer one has the bigger fan, smaller chip and is quiter than the older models. I am enjoying blu rays again too. Picked up Quantum of Solace and The Incredible Hulk for $9 each. Kinda stinks though since I beat F3 at launch and have maybe 6 trophies on it. Have to start over on that one again since it had 0 when I beat it.

I want to play Killzone 2 and some other good PS3 games. So if anyone here has any suggestions they would be appreciated. So now I have both a 360 and PS3 hooked to my 52" Samsung tv.Never thought I would buy another one, but for the price of a standalone blu ray player it seemed a logical choice to spend the little extra and have the PS3.

My psn name is zcarbandit, same as the live one for the 360. I dont have any games yet, but that will change soon enough. I just wish this slim would play ps2 games and had the 4 usb inputs, o well, not the end of the world.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Toxic8.
Toxic8 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Toxic8 possibly have for not rating a single film?
