I know I'm lazy and I need to update Anime Hell. I'll work on it tonight.

I got this letter in the mail saying I'm a canidate for Teen -Insert town here- I dunno how I got it though and it's modeling and personality contest. They say you don't need training and I'm not sure if I should go?

I know it's my decision but I want to see if any friends have any advice on these modeling things . . . Help is appreciated V_V

I have no knowledge about modeling. Sorry.

Well do you have any interest in being a model?

I too have no knowledge about modeling, but I don't like that industry. It forces people to become something they are not, and basically sell themselves to sell products. It's a dead-end job.

Neither do i,

Sure as long as you get paid.

I suggest you shouldn't but again the decision is up to you.

You should go if you are interested =)

Decision is up to you.

Smells like a scam to me, but who knows?

I was approached one time to do modeling but never did it though. I say give it a try just to try something different.

Just remember... prayer is the key! If you are lost in what you should do... give it to God!

do as you feel is best. remember that this opp may never come back again, but also keep in mind do only as you want to do. if you don't want to, then don't.

Well, first of all, you have to be careful, what if that e-mail is false? Believe me, that happened to me and it's reallyyyy dangerous, so be careful. If it's true, it's your decision, if you're interested, then go ahead and just be yourself .

I would have suspicions of it, so I wouldn't... and even if I weren't suspicious, I still wouldn't do it, but that's just me (and billions of others in the world).

I too know absolutely nothing about modeling. The offer smells fishy to me, but I dunno. Besides that, I pretty much agree with mejustjustin.

Sorry, I don't know anything about modeling.

Sure, why not

I entirely agree with SandPiper.

I always check those things out with the local area businesses. See if they are known. Also, do you want to be a model? They can tell you it's free to begin with and then hit you with fees down the road. Be careful...

IMO the concept is pretty lame, but it's your choice.
Posted Aug 18, 2009 12:17 pm PT
It's up to you if you want to do it.But don't pressure yourself about it...if you really want to do it then you don't need to worry.
Posted Aug 18, 2009 1:02 pm PT
Hmmm... go for it is there's a cash prize maybe?

You seem to have a sparkling, outgoing personality and would probably do well at a contest like that. At the very least, it would be a learning experience, and you'll probably meet some interesting people. I dunno, I had an offer like that when I was 12 and I didn't pursue the opportunity, and I sorta regret that I didn't find out what could have happened. Then again, I'm glad I didn't go all pageanty or something afterward, too. So, I guess I'm trying to say: write a pro and con list, thinking about if you'll regret doing it or not doing it in the future, too, and follow what the best option seems to be for you.
