Relient K's new album, 'Forget and Not Slow Down,' came out today! I got it this morning with most of what remained of an iTunes gift card and got to listen to the whole thing before really starting my day. It's great, no bad songs on the whole thing and a few clear standout songs. 'Forget and Not Slow Down' is easily a standout, a song I fell in love with the first time I listened to it (well, as far as you can fall in love with a song, anyways). But the best song on the album might be the brilliant and awesome 'Sahara,' which has some cool guitar riffs, a great theme in the lyrics, and some epic vocal harmonies (including Time Skipper from House of Heroes! (
)). Other top songs are 'I Don't Need a Soul,' 'Part Of It,' and 'Savannah' (not to be mixed up with 'Sahara.' They're actually two drastically different songs) among others. The album is very different from Relient K's previous music with even deeper and more serious lyrics and a very different sound. I think I like the 'new Relient K sound' about as much as what they used to sound like, it's very cool. I highly recommend this album!
