Hey, here's a recap of my thoughts on I Am Legend, the new Will Smith movie.
Previews begin-Cloverfield! Doesn't look as good anymore. Batman! Looks great! New Narnia looks surprisingly good! New Martin Lawrence movie looks surprisingly good! (kidding!)
10 minutes into I Am Legend: Wow, I'm very impressed.
40 minutes into I Am Legend: Hey! Looks like this could be an awesome film!
41 minutes into film (approximately, right where Will Smith is screaming at a mannequin): Oh my god this is the worse movie I have ever seen.

I actually really, really liked I Am Legend. But the problem is that the message of the film (and the meaning of the name) was changed so drastically, that it WAS NOT I Am Legend. It was good for what it was though.
It should have been named Will Smith vs. The Army of the Pseudovampires. That would have been much better.

Why did they have to abandon Richard Matheson's orginal book so drastically? Why has every film adaptation? I wish they could stick to the novel, so it's set in Los Angeles, features real vampires, and Robert Neville is just an ordinary guy, not some kind of scientist.

This movies was basically a mix of Castaway and Resident Evil: the sole survivor for more than 1/2 the movie dealing with people infected with a supervirus. Was the film good? I don't know. I don't think its terrible, but for some reason, it makes me not want to care about it.

I can't believe the IMDB rating is so high....well it's not that high but it is for one of the worst movies of all time.
