I have recently joined the Gamespot community and started to read and write back on the forums and I noticed a few things. There seem to be a lot of negative people on here that are always looking at the so called "bad" parts of a game and have stated that if little details are not included in their desired game that they are not going to purchase it. I think this is just a whole load of garbage, every game has some good and some bad because there is no such thing as a perfect game that satisfies everyone. Even though a site such as IGN or Gamespot rate a game as a perfect 10, that doesn't mean it's perfect, its just their own professional opinion. I think that gamers should always be looking at the good aspects of a game and have more of a positive view on things. Example: don't focus on not being able to get to the top of the castle, focus on the fact that you have a castle to go inside of in the first place.

But you know, that's the way of the internet.
I prefer gamespot because they seem to tell it like it is. IGN seems to be fluff for some stuff, but of course, to each their own.

though reviews and critiques are very important i couldn't agree with you more, but some compliants are so warrented like how EA is treating the C&C franchise, or the battlefield one for that matter. Anger needs venting so people blog or spam forums, in some cases it is more than justified, EA, but in most it isn't.

The good news at least is that if you are prepared for the worst of the worst and still buy the game then its pretty tough to be disappointed, that's one of the reasons why I check the most negative user reviews first (and not just for games either).
