So I got home from work yesterday and I was greeted by the pitter patter of yet more little feet, only this time is was four instead of two. That's right my Mum and sister had been out to buy a dog and she is an adorable little thing, we've called her Poppy and tomorrow she will be aten week old collie/labrador crossbreed:

She is already great with Darcie and as soon as she has had the neessary injections she'll be out and about so she can get used to other dogs. Now all that is needed is for me to lecture her in the ways of righteousness, that and how to poop in other people's shoes and not mine.

"Now all that is needed is for me to lecture her in the ways of righteousness, that and how to poop in other people's shoes and not mine" I laughed when I read that. That's a very cute dog. I've always wondered what it'd be like to have a dog. My family and I had one when I was 2 years old, but I don't remember her. It'd probably be a lot of work though.

Why didn't you get a cat Andy?!

It's a steep learning curve, let me tell you, especially on the 'poop' part. Damn, those pictures made me miss my cat back home.

That is a very cute puppy. Our chocolate lab is 9 months old now and we love her. One thing that always holds true with dogs is that they need lots of attention and LOTS OF EXERCISE. A tired dog is less likely to tear things up and cause havoc and are all around more enjoyable. Good luck, I hope you guys have a lot of fun together.

Is that baby chewing on a rubber chicken? O.o

That would be something, coming home to a new puppy. Cute puppy too....why don't they stay that small?

It's a Labrador cross breed after all. There is no problem on training that one.... unless he grows up to be a spoiled one.

That's a pretty cute puppy you've got there. Makes me miss my Husky. We had to get rid of him because we moved into a place that didn't allow dogs. God I hate renting.

@Paul: She will be when we get the housetraining sorted!

@Anthony: They are hard work for the first few months but once you get the basic training sorted they're great to have around. The only bad parts of a puppy are the 'presents' they leave for you in the house and chewing whilst they test the water of what they can and can't do.

@Caleb: Stealing the neighbours connection! Good stuff. You'll have to get a connection sorted and get back online.

@Mike: If only!

@Jude: Don't let the Temple Cat know but I am really not a person at all, and I know the trials and tribulations of bringing up a pup, I have done it before but it certainly doesn't get any easier!

@Jeff: A 9 month old chocolate lab? I bet it's a real handful! As soon as Poppy has had her injections she will be oiut and about to get her mixing with dogs and tiring her out so she won't go an a rampage at night!

@Kris: Well spotted there buddy, that chicken was bought for the dog but Darcie pinched it before Poppy could get her teeth into it, thieving child!

@Benson: She's a cross of two intelligent breeds so training her should be easy enough - at least for all the basic stuff anyway.

@Lindsay:That sucks having to get rid of your dog because the landlord won't allow pets

@Ron: You're welcome to her at night when she howls the house down, just bring her back in the morning!

@Craig: I use imageshack to host the pics but I don't have an account so they seem to me and go as they please from time to time. But as I write this message they are there I really must register on an image hosting website at some point.

@Nel: Cheers, she really is just one big ball of fluff!
