So I have been back from holiday for a couple of days but I didn't want to blog anything before I could get hold of a few of the pictures we took when we were out in Puerto Rico.

As you can imagine it was one hell of a temperature shock when I first landed back at Manchester Airport, after being used to it being about 30 degrees in the shade or whatnot, to get off the plane wearing a t-shirt at only 5 degrees, well, perhaps the term 'brass monkeys' will mean something to you! To others I'll simply say it felt Baltic! *shivers*

Seeing as I have a few pictures that I have now uploaded I'll go through a little of the holiday with you. But before that I will start by recommending staying in Puerto Rico, quiet enough for those who want to relax but an easy taxi ride (2-3 Euros) to get to bars and the like I say a taxi ride because unless you're a hiker you won't want to be walking everywhere, it's hilly to say the least.

So we stayed at the Altamar Aparthotel in Puerto Rico (Gran Canaria), offering picturesque sea views and it didn't disappoint. We arrived in the early morning so it was pitch black but when we got up about 8am and opened the curtain...well, waking up to this sort of view is something I can live with. Check it out:

After that it was time for breakfast, but no sleep and ridiculously warm weather and being starvingmakes me like this in the morning!

Serioiusly though, it was really hot all the time. I got the most burned on a day when the sun was behind the clouds for the most part. It was my own fault because I figured it wouldn't hurt to be less generous with the sun cream, big mistake, my back hurt like hell for a couple of days!

And this is the beach that caused all the problems, but it was one hell of a beach:

Well, it was a family holiday so I am only going to disappoint you Ron, I don't have any lurid pictures. But to further the rumours about my alcoholism I have these for you:

Confusion is a terrible thing!

It was a great holiday, it is just a shame that it only lasted a week.

Well it is good to be back with GS, and I am working on getting through a few of the blogs I have missed, as well as the gazillion posts I have missed in the Temple

So a pic of you with beer at breakfast, one topless and two more with yet more fermented vegtable products. Interesting....

Looks like you had a great time Andy, the place looks pretty impressive to behold, perhaps I should make a trip there huh?

It does look like a beautiful place (especially from your hotel view). Good stuff, glad you had a good time

I love the picture of you with the two drinks. Live fabulously.

Since when is your alcoholism a rumor?

You know me to well my friend. I was expecting pics of the hot Puerto Rican women all in this post. Especially since you were on the beach. But you get a pass since it was a family vacation. No worries, we will have plenty of chances for those kinds of pics when the crew gets together for The Trip.

I'm so jealous, I'd love to go to Puerto Rico. I've never been out of California. Great pictures, the view from your hotel looks amazing.

Looks like a nice place to hang out! Beer, Beach, and a wonderful view. I can feel like I can forget about life's problems on going a vacation there.

Damn, that baby is adorable. Tell me she's your sis's, and not some random baby you hug while being half-naked, Andy.

Looks like a fine holiday to me. I've never have any serious sun burnt before, being natural tanned, so I can only imagine how annoying it can get!

Oh, reminds me of what Hawaii looked like, just not as pretty

Drinking? You!?

I agree though, once you've been to a hot climate like that and go back to where you live....the difference in temp is amazing! When we came back from Hawaii a few years back, we came back during the Winter..in December....so it was in the negatives..compared to Hawaii's 90's

@Max: All interesting observations! It was a shandy...honest...it really was. I draw the line somewhere! In all seriousness though, it was a really nice place if you want to go somewhere and chill out.

@Paul: Yeah, it was a hell of a view. One you could never get bored of

@Mobel: Thanks man

@Fabio: You're right, I should stay in my nice warm room and play more games Like I needed encouraging!

@T: I thought it needed a picture, although Strongbow and a Blue Lagoon does not make a good combo!

@Ron: I dread to think what will happen on -that- trip!

@Anthony: Poor you getting to live in California! It was a really nice place and red hot compared to the temperature I am used to.

@Benson: Yeah the beach really was something. I enjoyed a doing a bit of snorkelling there, not a great deal to see but I enjoy a good swim.

@Jude: *kicks Jude in the shin (Ron style)* Yes it bloody well is my niece! Cheeky swine! Think yourself lucky about the sunburn, it can be a real pain in the @ss.

@Kris: I bet Hawaii is a great place to have a holiday. If I ever get the money I might have to check it out.

Looks like you had a good time. I didn't realize you too are from the U.K. That's cool. So that was probably a long trip then. Your pictures are nice. I only got to pass through Puerto Rico once, so I didn't get to see much of it. Hopefully the booze were good as well.
