Grumble, grumble. Things are not going well. The tech team have introduced a couple of fixes: they have removed dates of birth, home town and, finally, sex, from our profiles. Cast and crew added using the import wizard now take. The tech team are modern-day Heroes of Haarlem, with their fingers in the dyke But when they plug one hole, another springs a leak. And now cast deletions and character name edits won't take. If you try to make a submission featuring only these, you won't get past the submission form. If you submit something else (a cast addition, say, or a role type edit) the submission goes through, but the deletion or character name edit doesn't take.

Meanwhile, I need to know... I was glad to see the back of most of the contribution badges: if you have one saying you made at least 1000 contributions, why would you need the older one saying you had made at least 500? Now to get rid of the redundant Top 1000/Top 500 bages for those who have a higher achievement. Meanwhile, I need to know... Some of us have a grey box (or two!) where an emblem might go. I'm guessing these are supposed to be for show guide and people guide editor badges, but they might be the old genre badges. I've looked at the page source and it affords no clues. Anyone know for sure what they should be?

I've noticed some have two empty boxes, some have one, and some (like me), none. Staff and moderators have kept the old editor emblems (if they are editors).

I was actually hoping all the emblems would go away, but have noticed a number of users who believe that even the lamest of these small squares of pixels are the result of "hard work". Soooooo...count me as a user who could care less if my editor or redundant submission emblems ever return.

I have three empty boxes, no idea why. My first thought was they should be emblems for guides and TCs.

I have two boxes and no idea what they should be for. I mean when they are for the editor status, why aren't there 4 for the TUs as well?

I've got one. Also in the prof: why do we need to have our user name posted under the About Me section, along with only one favorite show/person? That entire section needs to be moved where it used to be on 2.0.

All I can do is shake my head. I went to edit/add person and in the edit/add the names already there (in guest spot) are duplicate, so I clicked them to delete them all (wrong episode anyways) and they are still there, I go back in there brave the darned thing and now it's in triplicate! ROFLMAO! I noticed that one of the new shows I watch (Fringe) now has an editor that has 10 points .... guess who? Missribs! Still ROFLMAO! Umm okay so now we know, if there's a new show without an editor Missribs is automatically made editor. It just keeps getting better and better. Oh yeah I have two empty boxes for emblems.

I'm glad the contribution emblems have been consolidated into one per user profile page. No need to have one for 1 submission, 10 submissions and so on all on the same profile. Conscientious editors don't care about having all of those emblems while they help to embellish profiles of gamers. I wish they would retire the Real Housewives of Orange County emblems since those were merely paid advertisements.

I thought the gray boxes were placeholders for the editor and trusted emblems, although now that I think about it, there were separate emblems for show editors and person editors. I don't care if those are removed either.

They probably won't remove the live chat emblems but I've seen some regulars who simply log on for a half and hour and lurk, just to get the emblem. That's not such a bad thing but one problematic editor does this almost every time so I wouldn't mind seeing his emblems disappear.

I'm already getting adjusted to the new site design. I just wish there weren't so many ongoing bugs. I was able to fix some episode crew listings yesterday for an hour before that functionality disappeared. The PM system still isn't working properly unless I have somehow become like that character in Life on Mars and mysteriously traveled back in time to be able to post messages on Dec. 31, 1969. Actually that would be kind of cool, for a day or two. But then I'd like to get back to 2008, only a 2008 where the major bugs had been fixed.

I've said it before since the redesign, the fact that most users claim that user emblems dissapearing means they'll be leaving the site is frankly quite sad.
I have a empty grey box, but if it's for having a person or show editorship/tu's then surely I should have three :/.

I mean sad in the sense of it been pathetic by the way, not emotional .

I have only one empty box, I think it's for some "Editor"/"TC" icon.
And what about the contribution icon, is it a temporarily bug?

I noticed that my editor/trusted emblems are the ones that are missing. I still have the emblem for 500 contributions, though I've made more than that so it's not the case that contribution emblems have been consolidated into one per user profile page.

We got by very well at TV Tome without any contribution badges. No doubt some people here see them as status symbols and feel insulted that some have been taken away, but I'd be very happy if each of us were given the option of removing them completely. To me, they are part of the childishness of the present TV.com.

Ah but remember "we asked for it"...

The duplicate name look when a person is brave enough to try and make a cast/crew change can be interesting as well...

OldBill--I saw that you sent me a pm (in 1969 LOL ) but it was blank.
