Geez, Tekken was huge exclusive to Sony, that's quite the loss... I'm still going to buy a PS3 (in the near future) but that sucks.

It is sad to see the great Playstation falling behind the other 2, but game developers still do need money (even if they're stinkin' rich), so most would opt for multi-platform releases. Still though, there are still PS3 games for the future, so fans shouldn't be too disheartened.

It seems awful that the Sony is losing their exclusive franchises but eventually the 360 exclusives will be ported to the PS3 with added content. I think its a fair trade-off, even if I dislike both consoles entirely. It's all about the games!

Well hopefully Sony will start making games that are just exclusive to the PS3 only that might do them some good.

I don't think Sony will drop dead here... have you seen how many guys ask about the PS3 in the forums everyday?? some of them are converts who can't stand the RRoD anymore. Still, price is a huge deciding factor here.

Lol no. Nobody cares about Tekken 6. I have not seen not even one forum nor anyone say that they're so hyped about this game. I guess it just lost its' touch after all these years just like Virtua Fighter 5. Nobody was excited and nobody will be hurt.

i have both systems for the record, but i'm glad it's coming to the 360 i have more friends on 360 so it's more fun to play online.

PS3 needs some big exlusives for 2009 and 2010 really to make gains back over M$ at this point in time. After the PS2 Sony's effort so far this gen has been a huge letdown and they can no longer dominate the market they once did.

mufujifi : well yes they need money, but dont others need money ( MGS4 is from Konami which is not first party ) ? almost one year ago people said MGS4 should sell 1 million on day one to gain profit, they were mocking it because it was still exclusive, but what happened ? MGS4 sold 1.3 million copy ( with Bundle counts ), so even it was exclusive, MGS4 sold greatly. and you'll say it would sell more if it was not exclusive, true, but it wouldnt help PS3 sales which affects the whole market. in a race if both racer wont try to do better, one will be left behind, exclusives help these racers not same things on both...

xriceballx : i see many people cant wait 1 year for a game even with added content, so even they are ported to PS3, its too late, m$ gets everything simultaneously... and yes its about games but games can only advance with quality, which is born from rivaly just like everything else...

Colmillios : i hope so. i dont know what they are thinking but maybe they are trusting first party games more than we think... well actually they are excellent games, Uncharted, God of War, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus ( any Team ICO game ), Heavenly Sword, Patapon, Loco Roco, Gran Turismo, etc. but still the games they lost were big titles...

GreenGoblin2099 : yes, really that rrod is bigger factor that i could imagine, i think its more irritating than i imagine and it happens alot. also when i check 360 forums, they dont talk about rpgs much while on ps3 forums even they dont have any rpg they talk about it... so again i'll say it ...wrong games on wrong platforms... but ofcourse price is still big factor for many...but i believe i got what i paid, i liked ps3 more than i thought.

don't worry, sony acknowledges the exclusive issue but it is not trying to solve it by money like Microsoft is doing because in the end in case of third party game, they are owned by those companies and can easily end up on another successful console specially if the company is facing financial problems and of course they aren't going to care if that decision is to affect other console makers. So, Sony actually is taking Nintendo's approach by concentrating on first party development because that is the way to preserve a console from demolishing. Right now I'm happy with the games I have on the PS3 and I don't care about any exclusives that go multiplatfrom, but exclusives that leave the console, these are the ones that will affect it badly. That is why sony should keep an eye on those games.

i'm happy with ps3 and its exclusives too but i'm scared just right now with idea of "what if MGS4 would be on 360 too ?". that would kill PS3 but they are lucky this time thanks to Hideo Kojima, Konami wanted to port it but it didnt happen. it was just lucky for PS3, but it happened only once and didnt happen except MGS4. i check 360 forums too and i see people with "there is 0 reason now to get PS3" comments...

no matter how you look at it, Tekken is huge title, its the best fighting game and i dont think even SF can get that title back anymore, sf4 looks ugly imo...

What I meant is that games that were once exclusive on the PS3 and then released for both the PS3 and the 360 will affect the PS3 but not as bad as the games that leave the PS3 and become 360 exclusive. For example Star Ocean became 360 exclusive when it was once PS3 exclusive. Yeah, I'm glad MGS4 remained exclusive because if it wasn't it would hurt the PS3 badly but as I said Sony can't control third parties so it has to depend on itself and it already started doing it now.
And yeah I can't deny that the PS3 is starting to lose interest in and that Microsoft is doing well this generation and knew very well how to hit Sony hard.
Thankfully, there are still good exclusives and Sony is providing more now. Even if Sony did lose this generation it has to learn from its mistakes and then it would have built a good solid development base.
