Hard-Earned Trophy and Obscure Game Spotlight

Still going strong playing MLB '09: The Show and all my hard work has payed with a great trophy! Last night, I unlocked the bronze trophy "Shut 'em out" with a complete game from John Smoltz (5-1) as the Red Sox defeat the Orioles 4-0 at Camden Yards.

There are two factors that make this trophy difficult to unlock. First, it must be a complete game shutout, not a combined effort including the bullpen. The cpu it quite good at fouling off tough pitches resulting in 7, 8 and 9 pitch at-bats which add up and deplete your starters energy. A low energy rating makes your starter more susceptible to laying in a meatball for the opposing batter. Secondly, this trophy must be done on the All-Star difficulty. At this difficulty level, it is not uncommon for the cpu to be able to string together a walk, SB and hit or jack one out of the park on a fastball that missed its location. Taking both those factors into account, I am proud of earning the "Shut 'em out" trophy.

As for the second part of the above blog title, I'd like to draw some attention to the game Half-Minute Hero for the PSP. In this game, you play as four different characters with intertwined story arcs in a quest to save the world. The catch is that you have 30 seconds per quest to level up, accomplish whatever task is put forth to you and defeat the enemy. Watch some footage and you'll see what I mean.

Any trophies and/or achievements you've recently unlocked and are proud of? Any low flying games you would like to spotlight for the GameSpot community?
