Here it goes. My brain finally conjured and brewed another topic on which I can write or rather rant about. In previous blogs, in which I have deleted because I got sick of looking at it, I am guilty of doing one of the sins of Gamespot. Please move the kids away from the computer screen this might get ugly. I am guilty of BWB-Blogging While Bored. I know please don't gasp, I know some who are guilty of way worse and even paid the consequences for it. I'm what you can call a minor sinner.

Maybe you have read topics on the Nintendo Wii, commented on them, or even wrote one yourself. There is no "buts" in that sentence, you just have to read one again. It's not going to be compared to Sony PS3 or Microsoft XBOX 360, it's just going to be praised for the years it has been our companion. I'm not taking away from Microsoft or Sony, for I love both (even though my heart is not with microsoft, I have been caught playing over 100 games of Halo). Therefore, I'm not looking down upon any console.

Nintendo has been with us ever since The X-files was the number one hit tv show, and after a hedgehog put on shoes, and began to run. We played our brothers/sisters in Street Fighter, raced to defeat the worlds in order to get Princess Peach from Bowser in Mario Bros., and became a swordsman in The Legend of Zelda. All the great years and Nintendo is still holding on strong. We watched our parents try and play Nintendo games. From my own personal experience, one day my mother wanted to try out Mario Bros. on the Nintendo. My siblings and I told her that she had to wait for a while in order to be safe. Finally we told her to go and she walked right off the "cliff" and killed poor Mario. Then Nintendo 64, once again parents play Mario Kart and they turn the joystick as if that would control there go-kart.

Now, Nintendo Wii, a console for anyone. It does not discriminate, but rather it is for the poor and the rich, the weak or the strong, the young or the old, and the gamer or the non-gamer. People that do not know what a joystick is, is interested in buying a Wii Fit. I have never seen a parent so eager to buy their children a Nintendo console before. Nintendo is changing and reshaping the way the gaming world is viewed. "And yet again it is creating history," the wise words of my sister. The art of Link's sword is coming into our households as we move the Wii-mote with excellence, slashing at our opponents. The battle between the characters of Nintendo is brewing in Super Smash Bros. brawl. And here we are gaming with our long-time companion and friend, Nintendo.

Whether you dislike or like Nintendo, love Sony more, or even hate the ground Microsoft walks on, you have to admit that Nintendo took part in shaping the gaming world and is changing it for the better with the help of Sony and Microsoft. You Go! Next-Gen consoles for giving us gaming nerds a meaning.

This ones for you Smitticus

So long,

The1

So true.. for many things... I am more a video game person, more than a particular cosole player. But I have started with Nintendo consoles ever since I saw Mario Bros. ... I -like everyone else - grew up and find the Sony consoles with richer video game variety, but still loved to play Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Zelda and many others in the N64... or the NGC ...I got my Wii.. for the sake of brawl experiences and for being the only one I could afford.... and theres no doubt Nintendo learned too. I still dream of getting a XBOX360 or a PS3... but the price doesnt help yet...well who knows later.--->.>

Shucks The1 you're almost making me blush Nice read by the way. It's a little more than an homage to Nintendo. I've always figured you were a lot younger then myself. But if you started out on games like SMB there can not be that much of a difference ........ though I'd never dare and call a lady old I agree with angel above me. PS3 and 360 are to expensive. But luckily price cutes are being done on the 360. Nowadays you can get a core system starting of at 200 euro. PS3 is still staying up ther ein the high end market. I really want one. Even if it is only to play MSG4 But I'm not buying till the price cuts itself in half!

@angel: I feel exactly how you feel. I am not even next-gened yet because of the prices, but Wii will be in my grasp soon @Smitti: I'm glad you liked the blog Yeah I kind of thought this one out before I wrote it. But you know what you can come down to America with Euro and buy a PS3 for cheap since Euro is more valuable than the dollar now

BWB: I'm guilty as charged
And I used to be a Nintendo fanboy... all the way up until college (four years ago). I still love Nintendo to this very day, but I'm down with any console maker these days. Each one just has so much to offer.

I also have been guilty of BWB
I used to Nintendo fanboy, I still am, even though I like Sony now

Yeah me too, I like any console now. I just had to pay tribute to Nintendo

Great blog The1. I've been thinking about this a lot lately... How the Wii doesn't even really belong in the same category as the 360 and PS3. To me it's like comparing the DS to an iPhone.

I used to think Nintendo was doing a disservice to gamers by being so against the grain with this system. But if you take it at face value, it's just plain fun. And Nintendo certainly deserves praise for it's forward thinking, and it's success is well deserved.
I hope Sony and MS are paying close attention. Especially in the areas of price and fan-service.

I'm glad you enjoyed the blog. I agree, when you talk about Nintendo it's like in another conversation than PS3 and MS. I'm not taking away from those consoles because I'm a big fan of sony and I like MS, but Nintendo appeals to everyone instead of a specific group of people.

Sure .. next time I'm up in your neighbourhood I'll swing buy and pick up a ps3 or two Heck I'll even throw in a couple of plasma screens just so I can start playing during my flight back home ... Maybe ordering a PS3 from the states wouldn't be a bad idea. But the shipping costs would ruin that for me. If the dollar drops down to lower then half a Euro I'll really start thinking on it. (I might even buy you one )

I'll be waiting for that Smitti because it's coming

That story about 'our' parents turning the joystick (and mine did too) is probably the reason the Wii is so popular with the older generation.... that and arthritis.

What the.... The1 writing a blog? This isn't the one, this is... someone else. I like 'em all, Wii, Sony X-boob, PC, etc. I know I know, I like to bash the 360, but only because dQ owns one, and he has problems with it

Goes to show what baggering someone can do SK. I feel very guilty about it though @the1 you do know that IF I should ever get you a PS3 you should find a way I can recognise you [ [sorry your honour, I'll stop baggering the whitness'] ]

@Sk: Yeah I wrote a blog, maybe even my last really until I think of something intelligent to say. I agree with the Xbox, that's the only system I heard that has a lot of "issues" but I'll tolerate it.

@Smitti: Not really, I'll tell you to drop it off at a specific location, and you will not ever really see me because I'll cover my face You'll just know The1 dress in all black like her avi
