As I was walking through my local Walmart today, I spotted some odd "glowing" machine outside the food court. I ventured my way over to inspect the curious device. It turned out to be a "Acme Crane Company" brand claw machine. I've always despised these money gobling monstrosity's ever since I saw my mother waste over $10 on a plush Duck she didn't want after the first dollar. So as I was turning back I caught a glimpse of somthing... it was black and red, sorta spikey... by god! It was a plush Shadow the Hedgehog! This 7.5 inch tall stuffy imediatly riled up some raw emotion in me, probably the one of sadness over how I saved up money as a child to buy a large stuffed Sonic... and then the store went out of business and moved away! Driven by rage, and probably greed, I jammed $2 in the machine and went after Shadow! I got the claw wrapped around his head with my first attempt and the crane limply dragged him over too the drop slot, but somthing bad was about to happen... Shadow fell and slumped on the edge off the slot! He was litterally holding onto the edge of the slot as the other stuffed critters began to engulf him. I had to act quick, but I had no more valid change! As I despaired over my luck, the machine piped up and said: "Try Again! Play untill you win!" I jumped in surprise and snatched at the controller franticly, preying I could pull Shadow from the clutches off his stuffed captor's! I managed to slip the crane arm around his only visible arm and pull him to safety, he sort of dangled in the crane for a few moments before the arm snapped open and he fell out the bottom of the machine right onto my foot! Victory was mine! I wrapped up my trip too Walmart and put Shadow down triumphantly on my couch next to me. I checked out his tag and found out he was part of a five piece set of 15th anniversary Sonic plush toys! Scrounging the net brought up nothing on them... either no one knows about them yet, or no one cares. Either way, I will be making a return trip to the that claw machine to see if I can procure any more of the set... I'm pretty sure I saw a pink hedgehog!
