A while ago I used to post whenever I completed a game. I've sort of decided to pick up the habit again, but in a slightly different and more organized manner. Instead of each time I finish a game, I'll put what games I have completed by the end of the month (after all, I have been beating them at a much faster rate lately). This first list is extremely long, but that's also because it contains not only the games that I've beaten this November, but of all time as well (at least those that I can remember). The abbreviations at the end of each title are what system the game was beaten on. Oh, and all Wii titles were co-oped with my roommate. I personally don't have a Wii.

A couple of years ago my friends and I always used to converse with each other about how the three PS1 Final Fantasy games should get remakes or ports onto one of the newer consoles. This of course was when the Final Fantasy VII Tech Demo had just been shown and left and right Square was releasing remakes of its games onto various Nintendo devices. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but we all knew that was probably never going to happen.

Still, we were very grateful that some of the earlier games did as a few of them are years older than myself and on systems that you can hardly find in used game shops anymore. It made it possible for both the newer generation gamers and the English speaking ones to finally enjoy some of the company's older classics. The only ones that didn't get released though, was anything labeled number 7 or up. Meaning that anyone who was still too young to play teen rated games when they were released (such as myself) would be out of luck in finding copies of the PS1's discs.

Years passed, seasons changed, the events of my last blog took place, and finally Square has decided to re-release one of these coveted items. Final Fantasy VII is now available over the PlayStation Network for PSP or PS3. W00T!!! The only problem? I've still yet to re-buy a PSP or PS3. ^_^ ;;. Just my luck. Lol. Well, at least it should be available that way until I finally do (I hope it is).

I wonder if Final Fantasy VIII or IX will be re-released this way. I guess it doesn't really matter though as I have already purchased the original discs.

Oh, and before I forget: Happy Halloween!

Well, it's definitely been a while. There's no mistaking that part. Around two years to be precise. What have I been doing all that time? The answer is simple: Lots of stuff!

Originally I had quit gaming due to circumstances (well, more like circumstance with a snowball effect) which I'll avoid putting online for now that caused my life to spin horribly out of control. I lost my home, my friends, my reputation, my pride, and just about anything else you can name. All because of someone else's lies. Yeah, life was pretty darn bad for a while.

Anyways, now I'm back on track, doing well in college, and have totally rebuilt my game collection from the ground up. Yup. The ground up. After I had "left for good" (which at the time I really had intended to do) I sold almost all my equipment. About the only thing that I ended up keeping was my PSP because it allowed me to look things up online via Wi-Fi. Everything just had bad memories attached to them…

But thanks to three good friends (who I am currently now rooming with) I have resumed a more normal life. I have also re-purchased the majority of my old gaming library along with several new titles. It was surprisingly easy to do and ended up costing me less than $200 for the games (consoles not included; which also had to be re-bought). This may be because almost all of my games were bought used or on sale, but as long as they all work (and they all do) that's good enough for me.

As you can probably tell from the above paragraphs, I'm no longer living with my parents. I am, like I said, living with a few friends, but that's because money wise it's convenient for all of us. The place is kind of small, but really it's not bad.

The only real things that I dislike about having to move is that I had to leave my two dogs behind (though I got to take my bird and chinchilla), and that I also had to leave behind the PSP, PS2, and PS3 because they were considered "families" (I had started to rebuild my library before I moved out for good. Long story.). Basically that means that all three of us (my mom, dad, and I) split the bill equally in order to purchase them. I don't feel too bad about leaving the PS3 behind as I never got to use it more than four times in the year that we had it (though it still smarts because my dad made us get the BIG one, against my protests of it costing too much, and I had to pay about $270 into something I never really got to use), but leaving behind the PSP and PS2 caused a bit more of an annoyance as for one, I was the only person who even owned any games for the PSP therefore I was the only one who ever found it useful, and two, the PS2 I had paid for entirely myself. At least all the Nintendo stuff was officially mine. I bought it all myself and my dad has no interest in that company's consoles as "their graphics aren't good enough". Less hassle for me I guess.

Basically, my dad wanted to keep the PS2 because it was the only working one left in the house (he had killed six, yes six, of them while I lived in that house) and was therefore the only way he could play his older Gran Turismo games. The PSP I was made to leave behind because of the new Gran Turismo game that was coming out. It wasn't even due to be released for two more months and he already jumped the gun and assumed that he'd love it. Personally, not that I have anything against Gran Turismo, but I think he'll hate it. He judges every game by graphics alone, and seeing as he's already had a taste of the PS3's Blueray I doubt he'll be able to switch to something even slightly lower like the PSP's graphics. That and he always plays his games on his Logitech wheel controller thingy that you can play racing games with. He's admitted that he totally HATES playing with a regular controller so I doubt the game will prove very interesting to him. After all, the PSP as far as I know only uses the 'controller' that it came with. *snicker* I don't think he ever put that much thought into it. Oh, well.

At least this gives me the opportunity to move up to the PSP 3000 model. I'm still debating whether or not I should get it in purple or wait until after November and get it in blue. Either way, until I'm able to save up the money to get one at all, I'll have a lot of PSP games (eight to be exact) that I won't be able to use. Guess my DS will be my portable system of choice for a while.

As for the PS2, well I mentioned that he had killed six of them over the years. Most of these died from overheating as he kept them on under the couch forgotten for sometimes days at a time. That or he was just too lazy to SAVE and thought it would just be easier if he left them on to come back to later. *sigh* Seriously? Anyway, as I said I had to leave MY PS2 behind as it was the only one that still worked. T_T Still, I asked and was granted permission to take one of the old dead ones with me. I chose the one that looked like it had the best potential for resurrection (a black slim), and with my roommates, a bottle of canned air, a few internal replacement electrical wires (the original ones had literally melted), and some electrical tape it now works. YAY! It still has some problems and it's definitely not as good as new, but we brought it back to life.

Almost done.

Seeing as a lot of my games were re-bought I decided to have some fun and purchased the higher (often in Japanese) versions if they were available (I can understand Japanese quite well, so this doesn't pose any challenge in playing them). For example, my once Kingdom Hearts II is now Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix +. Final Fantasy X is now Final Fantasy X International. The same goes for many of my games if the opportunity is available or worth it. Most of my games are in English, but a lot of them now (especially Square-Enix games) are their more complete versions. I only wish Gamespot had them available on their lists so that it was evident to show which versions of the game a person has.

One more thing then I PROMISE I'm done for this blog.

The game consoles that I currently own are as follows:

PlayStation 2 slim, Nintendo GameCube (with GameBoy Player), and Nintendo DS Lite.

Maybe someday soon I can get back a PSP and PS3 so that I may continue playing the games that I already have for those systems. Perhaps during that time I'll also make up my mind to get a Wii. Which reminds me: if anyone is confused as to why I may sometimes have Wii games in my "now playing" list it is because I tend to do multiplayer with one of my roommates on a regular basis. The Wii however, is entirely hers. It's just that in a lot of games it's more fun to tag team than it is to play solo (in our opinion). I'll be sure to update on Gamespot if I ever get any more consoles.

Finally, thanks for listening to anyone who stuck through until the end in reading this. You're awesome!

Some people just don't have opinions. Like TerranicaX.
TerranicaX must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could TerranicaX possibly have for not rating a single film?
