"Angela come on you've been saying how great this guy, Andrew, is from the day you met him, and you've been planning that camping trip for a month. Now you come back and expect us to believe you got nothing out of it but a bunch of bug bites and a romantic moonlit dinner?" Temperance said as she hurried after her friend.
"I'm not telling you anything until you tell me what's going on between you and Booth." Angela fired back over her shoulder.
Bones huffed in frustration. Angela was relentless, she knew how much Brennan wanted to know about her trip, and she was using it to get information out of her. "There's nothing going on between me and Booth we're just friends," She lied.
"Oh please you're lying. I've seen the way you two look at each other. Plus you think I don't notice how you two react when the other is in trouble. Or what about that time you two were alone late at night in a corner booth at the diner. There's more than friendship there and until you tell me I'm not telling you." Angela finished as they walked into her office.
Bones pulled the door shut behind her and Angela knew she was going to tell her everything. "First off we where just talking that night, second how did you know about that?... Never mind. Ok look it has been killing me keeping this from you but we were just waiting for the right time. Booth and I have been seeing each other for a week now." Bones said quickly. "I wanted to tell you but I really just didn't want to bring you down you were so excited and everything."
Angela stood there stunned for a moment then her face cracked into a smile. "I told you. And bring me down I'm so happy for you two." She paused, "Have you told Cam?"
Brennan smiled, "No Booth said he'd take care of that."
"What were you thinking sweetie, I think I'm more excited about this than you are." Angela said and hugged her friend.
"Ange we've been trying to keep this quiet until we're ready so please don't tell anyone." Bones said.
"Yeah ok," Angela said.
Brennan looked her in the eye. "Promise?"
"I promise," Angela said sounding a little hurt.
"Ok now you have to tell me everything." Temperance demanded sitting down in a chair opposite her friend.
"So when we got there we had just enough time to get settled into the cabin and hike up to this cliff that sits above a lake, we just sat there and watched the sun set, Andrew took a couple of pictures. It was so perfect. Then we got up late, ate breakfast, went swimming, got back after dark. The next morning he got up and cooked breakfast for me. We actually hiked a bit until we found a nice spot to just sit and talk. We went back to the cabin ate lunch and we were inside messing around and I must have fallen asleep or something because the next thing I new. He woke me up and took me back to the cliff. There was the most romantic little picnic set up. The food was so good, steak, steamed garlic rice and vegetables, sourdough rolls, wine. By the time we got to dessert the sunset was at the most beautiful part... and for dessert, home made chocolate cake, and chocolate covered strawberries." Angela said and stopped as her friend gave her a funny look. "We watched the sun set again and laid there looking at the stars talking. Then we went back to the cabin and well you know." At the last sentence Bones laughed. "What?" Angela asked, surprised by Brennan's reaction.
"It's just you've always been so open about particular subject," Temperance said.
"I know it's just this time is different," Angela said seriously. "I want it to last this time sweetie."
"This guy sounds great, and I'm happy for you." Bones said hugging her friend again. "So when do I get to meet Andrew?" She said heading for the door.
"If you promise not to be all professional-anthropologist completely weird, maybe we could do a double date." Angela said as her friend walked. "Tempe, could you not mention this to Jack he's been kind of cold towards me since I started seeing Andrew, and it kind of worries me."
"Ok I won't mention it to him, Angie he'll be fine." Temperance said seeing the worry on her friends face before she walked out.
The day went by normally another case, more evidence, and Bones saw what Angela had meant about Hodgins, he had no witty dirty comment, no light flirting, it was all coldly professional. She also saw how hurt Angela was by it. The whole lab knew that they liked each other but by the time Hodgins made his move it was to late, Andrew was already in the picture. And even though they denied it they still liked each other. It was obvious by the way they looked at each other when they were on good terms.
Booth, Bones, and Angela had just finished a conversation about their relationships and Booth said, "Speaking of relationships, Bones do you want to do dinner?"
"I don't know what did you have in mind?" Bones replied playfully.
"Chinese take-out and maybe we could make dessert." Booth replied flirtatiously.
"Your place or mine?" She asked leaning closer to him and they kissed.
"Guys not in my office go to lunch or get a room, or something." Angela said.
The couple looked at each other, "Lunch it is, and my place." Booth said and they headed for the door.
They were sitting at the dinner waiting for their food when Bones asked, "So how'd it go with Cam?"
"She basically said it is fine by her as long as we keep it out of the office." He said seriously then his face cracked into a smile. "But you should have seen the look on her face when I told her." Bones laughed.
"I'm really happy for Angela, since she started seeing Andrew she's been a lot happier and just handles cases better." Bones said.
"Yeah but I'm worried about Hodgins though. His hurt is evident by his actions and plus it's worrying Angela." Brennan said quickly.
"You just effectively used psychology, you know that right?" Booth teased.
"So what," she replied. Before he could say 'but I thought you hated psychology' she leaned forward and kissed him.
30 minutes later they walked back into the lab and found Hodgins pacing outside Bone's office. "Hodgins what's wrong?"
"Well for one Angela tried to kill me with one of your paper weights." Jack answered hurriedly.
"What?!" Booth asked.
"About ten minutes after you left she got a call and ran out of her office crying into yours. When I tried to find out what was wrong she through a paper weight at me and told me to leave her alone." Jack said quickly then after a minute he said quietly. "Temperance I'm really worried about her, she's really upset. I've never seen her like this before."
