I am not one to come to conclusions about people based on their outward appearance or the type of music they listen too or even the way they act but I'm getting there. Where I grew up there were all types of people with similar and differing personalities so I thought that I could make it most places. I CAN NOT STAND GOING TO SCHOOL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON!!!!! First and most minor issue:
People stare....hard. Between the cafeteria and my old dorm room is a common area where mostly people too lazy to actually get into the school hang out all day and night. walking to the food pit you can hear them talking (yelling) about whatever pops into their doped up heads. Then suddenly as you, me, or anyone else walks into their view they immediately stop talking and anyone can feel their eyes burning holes into your back. Make eye contact and they continue to stare...it's ridiculous.
Point two people from this city make horrible roommates.
I know not everyone born and raised in the city of Houston is a horrible b@st@rd but I had three roommates, one from Cali, one from Dallas, and one from Houston. Guess which one let his friends sleep on our couch and shoot a gun of in our room....oh and sold illegal items out of our room....yea the one from Houston. My roommate from the year before also had a roommate From the city and he acted almost just as bad.
Dont take this rant the wrong way, there are some really really nice people in Houston and at U of H, but the minority of people (mainly football players on scholarship, some of whom (I hate to be mean) should not have graduated high school)who act so bad and represent the school so poorly grab more attention than those who make the deans list or do community service.
Oh I almost forgot, a high-speed chase took out the gate to the parking garage of my dorm.
The moral of this story...dont live on campus if you want to go to UH. I apologize to anyone who has read this whine fest but I needed to put this somewhere and journals/diaries are for Doug and little girls (blogs ARE different....they are on the internet)
