Bleh. You really don't have to read this blog. I've got full blown insomnia so #1, I'm bored, and #2, this will probably turn out to be more of a vent session than anything overly substantial. How are you guys? How are the summer (or winter) months treating everyone? I've been seeing a lot of blogs in regards to E3, new games like The Darkness, and tons of people putting their input on the new Transformers movie (which I'm STILL reluctant to see).

I understand E3 will be downplayed quite a bit this year, but I'm hoping it will rekindle a spark with my love of next gen systems. The money's not really there to get anything at the moment, but I'd really like to see some of these anticipated games get put on the shelves soon. I mean, there's only so much more info I want to see about Assassin's Creed. Can..we just play it now? The chances of a 360 entering our home will be tripled when GTA IV releases....there's a fanboy in this household.

Vent session (please feel free to skip my cranky paragraph)- The bottom line is I physically haven't felt like myself in a long time, so things like a full nights sleep, shopping without the fear I'm going to faint, making solid commitments with close friends, etc. are out of the question this summer. I fractured my tailbone (fell on the ice) in March, so enjoying the movies and concerts doesn't work either. Simple, BASIC things have turned into big feats, and the anxiety of dealing with labor and really being a mother next month can be overwhelming and obsessive. So my apologies if I haven't been in touch on MSN, or have responded to PM's promptly. I'm not busy, there's just a lot mentally on my plate. But....this is all normal, and this will all be forgotten the minute I see her anyway.

Nothing much on the gaming front, mainly because I can't get comfortable to sit and play. I did end up purchasing Shadow Hearts Covenant (PS2). and Final Fantasy III (DS), which I've played a few hours of both games. They'll do just fine, and I've enjoyed the initial gameplay from both so far. Well it's around 6:00 now (been playing stupid online games), I'm going to try to head back to bed and get comfortable. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and PLEASE have some fun for me! Someone has to! XOXO Rachael

I have no idea what you're going through (and never personally will) so all I can say is feel free to vent whenever you need to, we're always around to respond when you get the chance. Apologies if my blog complicated things, I will take this into account and make the next one full of statistics and graphs and equations. Unless that sort of thing interests you, in which case there'll be pictures of squirrels. I'm trying to help with your insomnia, see.

I'm not all that hyped about E3 but then again I haven't been since some time in the late 90s (ie when I naively thought it was about more than free ad time for the companies), however I am interested in both the games you mentioned there, even if I will be getting GTA4 a lot later than all the console folk, being a PC gamer and all. Anyway, hope you're feeling better, at least temporarily!

I hope you feel better now, Rachael. Perhaps when you wake up, go out and have a stroll. You may feel better.Or perhaps you can watch some comedy/play some quirky games to brighten the moods.
Posted Jul 7, 2007 4:06 am PT
Hope you'll feel better soon and get some more games. lol I've still been awake pretty late myself though I am assured I'm not pregnant. lol Stay safe

You know me, Rach. I tend to shy away from stupid blog posts*complete lie* and I will never bow to any sponsor. Say, would you like a chocolate covered pretzel? How 'bout a Kudos bar?

Bah Rachel, movies, fun and games are all over rated anyway Seriously though, I hope you get some sleep soon. I know how erm...dangerous uncomfortable women can be >_>

Juxhe1- Glad to see you made it to NY Hope you had a nice trip back.

nodham- I have to admit, your WoW blogs have absolutely made my week. I don't think I have come across a blog series that has even come close to your sense of humor!

Jude- thanks a bunch. A walk will do me good later in the day, well, waddling that is It's amazing what oxygen will do.....

Plumma- you sure you're not prego? I will feel better by the next month, guaranteed- maybe I should get some more games.

Gregg- did you have to mention chocolate? People automatically mentioning food makes me feel much better anyway- there's a Dairy Queen run in my future.

Max- Who the hell needs fun? That's just....dumb.
Posted Jul 7, 2007 8:21 am PT
Yes, yes... Succumb to the power of the chocolate... Whoa!

Sorry, that was my mad alter ego, Sir Albert Haberdasher. Hope he didn't creep you out.

hey girl..... here is SUMMER and is freaking HOT...
4 am and you are on the pc with insomnia.... augh.... E3... i`m waiting a few games on that... mainly some that are suppose to be canceled, just to confirmed the rumor (The sadness).... I`m waiting RE: UC thus you don`t want to watch the transformers.... why?? i`m diying for it...

Assasin creeks look pretty nice... and "The chances of a 360 entering our home will be tripled when GTA IV releases....there's a fanboy in this household."

about your cranky paragraph.... aawwww.... don`t worry like you already pointed out, once she is infront of you, you would just be able to see her cute face... And GIRL... stop worry -i know this is natural- but you`ll be a great mom... i KNOWN that.. well at least as long the baby don`t mess with your CV collection
That fracture is still bothering you... *Sends you cookies and chocolate from my finest ones*

on the gaming field... the sparks would come back... and you are just like me now, getting games and no playing ssshhhhhh...

hope the insomnia goes away Hugs...

Go see Transformers when you can Rachael, it is really good... take it from an old fan of the TV series, you will enjoy it a lot.

I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well these past couple of months, and I really hope things get better for you soon.

You guys should get a 360 when you can so we can play a couple of games on Live and you can enjoy The Darkness & GTA IV when it comes out.

Hope you feel better soon sweetie, stay strong.
Posted Jul 7, 2007 11:50 am PT
Hey Rach ! I see you've had a few ups and downs lately..
I hope ur but gets better soon
As for E3 there might be a few games i like, but not that much interested enough to buy them.......though i have bought a few games for my DS lately.

Tetris, Brain training 1 and 2, Sonic Rush, mario DS and mario bros.
Posted Jul 7, 2007 2:16 pm PT
Gregg- you better keep Sir Albert on a leash

Mari- I'm a transformers nut (watched the 80's cartoon religiously) I was just worried it would let me down. I'm convinced to see it though. I hope you get to gaming soon, or SOMETHING with that schedule of yours! You're a fantastic friend, thanks for the pick-me-up.

Denis- Ok you've convinced me! I'll go! Things will get better soon, as this is all temporary. If I get a 360 you bet I'll be there playing some of the retro games with you- that would be a blast. Probably nothing like Gears as I'd be owned in 2 minutes

Carlo- glad to see you're having a good time with the DS, I hope E3 brings out something interesting since you have that nice shiny PS3 to play with!
Posted Jul 7, 2007 5:29 pm PT
Ahhh...I see the stress of being apart of Team Preggo is starting to make you crack. I know it sucks, believe me. My baby mama put me through the pain with her. But all will be worth it in the end Rach, trust me. Though I hope you aren't giving your poor husband hell.

Hmmm...I see that you bought Covenant...but...what is the progress on Suikoden III....hmmm???

As for Transformers, I say go see it. I'm one of the most anti-Michael Bay people there is (though I do like both Bad Boys movies). But I have to admit that Transformers was good. Go for it.
Posted Jul 7, 2007 6:34 pm PT
ah..insomnia...how I miss thee...well not really but I know how that goes.
As for the venting....we all do it at some point and its better than holding the aggrivations in. I can't believe you have only a month left...time sure does fly by...or it has been for me atleast. I hope you don't get the crazy heat like we have been getting down here...that would probably make you more uncomfortable...unless you like free saunas

I am looking forward to hear about the new games and all from E3 but I will be far from my computer the whole week so I won't fnd things out until after the week is over
Posted Jul 7, 2007 8:53 pm PT
Yeah dudet. I'm playing Oblivion on my shiney PS3...maybe u should get 1 when the prices go down. Ihear the new GTA ..is going to be hardcore.. and this one is only for the PS3.
Posted Jul 8, 2007 3:43 am PT
Ron- I know you've had first hand experience with this whole thing, and I do trust you that it will be beyond worth it next month About Suikoden III- I'll start looking into more games when I can sit still in one spot again

Jan- it has flown, well some weeks more than others. The temps haven't been too bad up here, except for the few 90+ days- I don't move much when they happen I know you've been quite busy, so I hope you'll be able to catch a little E3!

Carlo- yes when the prices go down I love the idea of getting one, and the 360 was always my last option, but now it's the first. GTA IV will be on both systems- I'm relieved to see many games are going to be multi console

In these days is very cold here, cause we are in winter, but all my people is exited because our football team selection is in the semi-finals of Copa America, the next match is against Brazil on Tuesday....
See you around Rachel

Oh lawd, sounds like you're havin' a pretty bad time this summer. Hope it gets better for you though once the baby comes around though. Also, I do believe I've met this Albert Haberdasher once before. It was at the country club, and I was there in disguise, wearing a top hat and fake mustache, and operating under the name Sir Chives Woodesworth of Manchester. Twas' a grand tale but I'll save it for another day.
Posted Jul 8, 2007 6:22 pm PT
I'm sorry to hear that you're uncomfortable, but you're right that it will all be worth it. Looks like you're almost there. Best wishes and stay healthy. If your family is like mine, there won't be that much time for gaming at least the first three months, until the child starts sleeping on a somewhat regular basis. E3 doesn't look as interesting this year, and I don't think you're missing anything big by holding off on your nrxt system purchase until the price drops. Good luck with the next generations (console and family).
Posted Jul 8, 2007 8:29 pm PT
I know what you're talking about blog-wise. It seems as though all of them are about E3, The Darkness and Transformers. Like you, I'm not going to see it. Each time I comment in one of those blogs, it's always the same thing.
Posted Jul 9, 2007 1:25 pm PT
jp- congrats on your football team! I know that's huge down in your area, so all my best. I remembered to put in "how's winter" thinking of you and Matias

ZeroWing- Thanks- Oh great I'm missing the story about Sir Albert and Sir Chives? You two could make up something crazy I'm sure!

wmg- thanks a bunch, don't be surprised if I hit up all my GS buddies that have kids for weekly advice "planning" and "newborn" definitely do NOT go in the same sentence...

easteast- hey there, yup seems to be the popular topics at the moment-maybe they'll switch around a little during E3, I've been finding my comments to be quite repetitive I don't mind too much though..

Syrinx: "you better keep Sir Albert on a leash"

Sadly, that's exactly how he likes it...

Well Syrinx, if you really want to hear the story I guess I could put it on my blog. I can see it now! Albert and Chives! A story of Passion, Love, Betrayal, Intrigue, Chimichangas, Cute Fluffy Kittens, Lolis, and Nicholas Cage!* Coming soon... or whenever I feel like writing it.

*Editor's Note: None of this actually appears in the story. Except the Chimichangas.
Posted Jul 11, 2007 11:12 pm PT
jp- I'm sorry buddy! That stuff always seems to happen towards the end huh? Still I hope they put on a good show.

Gregg and Zero Wing- LMAO This could get very interesting- I wouldn't be surprised you have separate thread going in the CUU about this one! If you write a story, I'll read it!

Hey Rach take it easy, calm down and try to sleep even though I know it`s difficult especially in you final month. Sorry I didn`t post anything before it`s just that I havent been here in a while due to winter holidays. Hope to her from you again soon see you girl we all miss you!!!
Posted Jul 17, 2007 5:01 am PT
I had some fun for you sweetie, sorry to hear things are difficult at the moment, but I hope you know it will all be worth it in the end Quite jealous of your Final Fantasy III purchase, I wouldnt mind playing that at all myself. But hell, I'm still playing FFXII.... just tying up all the loose ends before I go to the final section. Found Shadow Covenant quite good, though a little hard to be a completist on it Chin up, and have a hug
