What? Don't look at me like I've been dead! Eh you're right anyway.  Big apologies for the absence, and huge thanks to the people who have just dropped little PM's to say hello.  I've realized I'm not going to leave my entire GS community....waay too many crazy people to have fun with around here, and I genuinely have missed the company. As far as GS is concerned,  I won't be dead, just quiet. Messing around with blogs, profiles, etc. Not overly excited about posting in unions at the moment.  Screwing around with new banners and such- just keeping creative...

~THANKS TO THIS..~

Tyler and I got a new toy for our birthdays   SOOOO! After getting our 37" Panasonic Plasma, I don't have an excuse NOT to play games now.  Unless Tyler's watching a Red Sox game >_>.  Yeah we probably needed diapers and baby stuff, but it feels good to be somewhat human again!

~GAMING FRONT~

The curse has lifted and I'm back to playing! I played ICO (PS2) last month. Simple plot- find a way out of this massive castle. Unexplainably, I was hooked and finished it in 2 days.

Just finished Suikoden (PS1),  just your standard generic RPG.  Good ol' cliche storyline. This is the first I've played in the series, and it's crazy how many playable characters are in it.  Honestly, I haven't hit many PS1 RPG's I don't like.   Can't wait to move to another in the series!

Replaying Legend of Dragoon (PS1), as I still need to finish the last 3 hours of the game .  Anyway! It'll keep me occupied..though I'm getting tired of Lavitz screaming HARPOOOON!  Does anyone notice in most of these earlier RPG's that you're always fighting an "Imperial Army" of some sort???

Future game to have in collection ASAP: Guitar Hero

~PREGO FRONT~

28 weeks. 3rd trimester. Officially waddling instead of walking.  With the new founded summer heat (even WITH A/C), things are getting uncomfortable- another reason why you'll see me playing games.  Moving around has become difficult- lots of dizziness, vertigo, etc.  Nursery's done, and finishing my studio work by July.  Oh THAT's right you wanted to know what it was huh???   It'll be a girl.  She's very strong and active, and things are looking great so far....

Time for me to make an exit- I hope everyone's well and will catch up more soon.  Sorry MSN's been a bust lately- hope to get back into it, but I've been hot and moody. Err, that didn't really come out right.  Take care!   XOXO  Rachael

Hot and moody, eh? Been there...tell the hubby even though you're pregnant he can still show you some attention.

Grr...and I'm envious of your Plasma TV...I work hard, I pay my bills (well, mostly) and I've waited for so long...how come I don't have one yet????
Posted Jun 4, 2007 9:01 am PT
Hey, look at that, a blog from Rachael! Been a long time since we've seen one of these.

Great to know about the new toys... great TV. As for the games, haven't played them and don't think I will, not my type, sadly.

And congrats on the girl!
Posted Jun 4, 2007 9:28 am PT
Welcome welcome Rachael! Suikoden I is a good way to get you started back into gaming.

Be sure to get Suikoden III (on special request of Ron)!
Posted Jun 4, 2007 9:35 am PT
Glad to hear from you again, congrats on the baby girl! And the new toys of course Enjoy those games while you can, I'm sure the baby is gonna keep your hands full

Flame_Blade88- "Fun" is definitely a good way to describe it! We'll see what happens

Brad- *makes note to tell hubby* Boy I feel just as bad for him sometimes You'll get a TV I'm sure- you have a fun job now, but I bet it's hard leaving without a game in hand!

Denis- Yeah these are definitely not your type of games, but you know what game might be? OKAMI! Is there an official group now out to harrass you until you get it? If so sign me up *POKE*

Jude- Thanks for the warm welcome back. Ron's already expressed his opinion on Suikoden III....I better get that soon or I'll get slapped

pumpkin- good to see that you're still hanging around as well! Hopefully I'll play a little while she's napping, though I have a funny feeling I'll be napping at the same time
Posted Jun 4, 2007 10:15 am PT
Rachel! We missed you! Not going to say anything you waddling. I have had two pregnant sisters, and learnt the hard way

Glad to see you played ICO, that is one of my all time favorite games. It's just so beautiful, as I'm sure your baby girl will be
Posted Jun 4, 2007 12:43 pm PT
Damn you with your plasma screen!!! *shakes fist angrily*

Looks nice, and congrats on the "It's gonna be a girl", erm, stuff...Be sure to name her something cool and pretty at the same time! Like Amber, or Liz-Beth. Y'know, the Irish variation of Elizabeth? *backs away, and runs. Fast.*

Max! Sorry you DID learn the hard way Tyler's going through it right now, though I swear he pushes buttons on purpose. Men. Good to see ICO's a fav- simple yet amazingly elegant game...

*catches Gregg* I dunno....I was thinking of Gertrude Bertha, or how about Fanny?? Crap I hope I didn't insult someone *whistles to self*

Mitchell- I'm jammin' thanks to you! A Medusa mobile- I'm sure that'll put her right to sleep! Oi vie....that or Slogra and Gaibon stuffed animals.

JP- I'll take some WHIP SMACK and VOLCANOOOOO to go along with that

Carlo- Trade my TV for your soul? Well if it involves your PS3 we'll talk Hope you're doing well!
Posted Jun 4, 2007 6:20 pm PT
Hot AND moody? My kinda women! Heh, glad to know your doing well, and damn that is one kickbutt TV you have there! Glad you finally played Ico too, that is one of my all time faves and one that should be missed by the maturer gamer. Now onto Shadow of the Colosuss! All the best on the baby front too, I loved it when my ex wife randomly burst into a tirade, or unexplainably soaked herself in tears. Was a nice change from the norm. Give Tyler my best!
Posted Jun 4, 2007 6:31 pm PT
TV= me very jealous...just like almost eveyone else . I hope for your sake we actually don't have a really hot summer. My sister went through that for both her kids and it seemed rather rough on her.

Glad to see you back on here...do we get to see pics of the completed baby's room I wonder how many game related plushies could be in there....
Posted Jun 4, 2007 7:53 pm PT
You call that banner creative..HAA! muahahaaaa

I'm not surprised to see you since I've spoken to you a bit, but still good to see you on GS. Harpooon, Rod Typhooon, Gust of Wind Daaance!

*hugzzz*
Posted Jun 5, 2007 3:57 pm PT
lol, you'll enjoy mario bros, Rachael, it's great.
Posted Jun 5, 2007 4:39 pm PT
I'm sure Tyler will enjoy the "hot" part of that "I've been hot and moody" comment.

All kidding aside Rachael, it's glad to see you on GS since you are NEVER on MSN. {I'm not on there much either, but this conversation isn't about me}

Thanks for the Prego Watch 07 update. I've been wondering how you and the little gal have been doing. Glad all is well. Make sure you keep nourished and take those vitamins.

By the way, Jude is damn right about Suikoden III. It's the best of the series. Don't worry, I won't be slapping you if it takes a while to get it.
Posted Jun 5, 2007 6:58 pm PT
Dean- I've only beaten the second collossi so I better get back to that game Randomly burst into tears??? *starts whistling* Oh I can empathize! Hope your end of school projects are going well.

Jan- just Classic Winnie the Pooh in the nursery at the moment, but that won't stop me from getting gaming plushies down the road

Tommy- "Creative" in pregnancy terms can also mean: Delusional, Irrational, Crazy, and downright stupid. Glad I cleared that up. I'll let you know if I finish Dragoon this time....

Carlo- I'll get it someday!

Ron- I don't know WHAT Tyler's enjoying at this point I'm keeping well hydrated, rested, fed, and dropping most of my work in the next couple of weeks. Time to look up Suikoden prices! Hope I can get it soon and thanks for the link btw Err...hope it's not the end of the world if I skip the second one...
Posted Jun 6, 2007 11:11 am PT
...did you just say skip the second Suikoden...*faints*
Posted Jun 6, 2007 11:37 am PT
Just to join the party and throw in a Legend of Dragoon attack "Demons Dance!"
Posted Jun 6, 2007 2:05 pm PT
It's great to see you back. Sounds like you're getting to the fun part of the pregnancy. My wife actually really liked the later weeks. She was still teaching and her kids were fascinated when the baby would move. Glad to hear all is going well. Take it easy and enjoy yourself.
Posted Jun 6, 2007 6:45 pm PT
*Shakes Ron* well I didn't mean it that way, just as long as I can play them out of order Heaven forbid I skip ANY in the series!

Max- Stop sniffing your strawberry candles! You sure they're not laced with anything?

wmg1299- Thanks a bunch! Hope your new home is going well. 2nd trimester was far the best. Tons of energy- that's starting to dwindle as it gets warmer, though I can't tell you how quickly I want my house finished. Talk about extreme nesting cravings....
Posted Jun 7, 2007 5:47 am PT
Oh, ok. I didn't know you meant it like that. I recommend playing all of them. Just approach Suikoden IV with caution. The sailing parts are boooring and the encounter rate with enemies during that part are insane!

Hang in there - the toughest part is still to come. There is the delivery, after that there is the couple of sleepness nights when your little one will be demanding plenty of food to get her strong. Just when you think you have it cracked and she is sleeping through - her teeth will start to come through and there goes the sleep again.

So get as much sleep as you can, cause you will need it. But boy oh boy they definitely are worth it....

The first thing I do when I get home from work is sneak into his nursery and have a quick peak, then I go straight to the lounge and turn on the camcorder to view any new footage. PS - I had a lie in this weekend - Sunday Byron only woke at 7:15am.
