Okay...I suppose I should make this request now that I have my laptop back. If you're here commenting on my blogs regularly, you can safely assume that I value your life a bit as well as any sort of friendships we may have with each other. With that said, I humbly request that we don't take jabs at my other friends if at all possible. This includes anything that may even remotely be taken as a jab. "With that said", let's get on to Symphony's top 5 list. Starting with numbers 5 and 4.

To make life interesting for everyone, not only will I make sure I don't let the same game win more than one place at the top, but I'll also explain why it's at the top over the generic bosses we all love so much. Needless to say, to make my list, not only did you have to be uber cool, but you had to do something not many games can just brag about...or even do. Note: If you see the game's title, and you don't want any spoilers, stop reading right away and move on from the given information. If you don't like the game, try and at least understand why I chose the given game/boss.

Assassin's Creed ~Sibrand

I bet you all my pennies that Hazelnuntman didn't expect Assassin's Creed to ever make it on my list. As I said before, I can bash a game that happens to have a few of my favorite moments. Or at least one moment. We all have played games where the boss will hit you and then run a few feet away from you and try to repeat his actions. We also are aware that Assassin's Creed is about stealthy killings after the questionably redundant nonsense. Sibrand makes it to number 5 because he happens to be a paranoid mad man. Mess up your chance to assassinate him, and he'll give you the most thrilling chase throughout the city, screaming at you to stay away from him all the more. He made his point throughout his entire block that he suspected that you were already there to kill him...with no clues other than his fellow friends were killed beforehand. I mean, the whole stage was practically there so you wouldn't get to him...and the fact that he's a fast little demon that you have to out maneuver made the kill all the more worth it. It's a crying shame the actual game wasn't full of these moments.

Metal Gear Solid 3~ The Boss

Do you remember in MGS3 where we were all laughing how the enemies couldn't see us hiding in plain sight? How the environment were our friends...especially tall grass and flowers? Well...I bet none of you were thinking they were your friends now! Fighting your mentor in a field of beautiful PS2 flowers was a brilliant idea...even if all the flowers were white...and The Boss just so happened to be wearing all white so even if she was running right at you, you may not see her until she grabs you and breaks a bone or two. The final game of cat and mouse was pretty nifty, and the fact that you had to pull the trigger during the cutscene to end her life (Some were late to figure that out), made the entire thing emotional as well as a good challenge.

As a self-rule, I won't list a boss from the same game twice, so don't expect MGS3 or Assassin's Creed to make it back on the Boss Fight list ever again. The next few blogs will fly by quickly, so brace yourselves.

I never actually did finish MGS3. I should get on that. I got to about the River Styx moment (as I call it), before getting sidetracked and not going back.

Which one was Sibrand? The archer dude?

Sorry for the short comment, but I've got kung-fu to go to. Later.

Just Dropping by.

I would of expect to see The End's sniping battle instead of The Boss but, cinematically, The Boss boss fight is more dramatic. And I must admit, when The End blew up after the fight, I couldn't help to laughed out but only once whereas for the end of the fight with The Boss (boy, Mr Kojima, did you have to picked those name for the boss to make my sentence read confusingly), no laughing matters there. Great pick on the two to start off such series of blogs.

Already, the standard of the top five is to such height in quality, I can't help to wonder the rest which, what I am doing at the moment. Now, let me think (wonder): Why feet smell and noses run? Wait... I mean, would the ICO final boss fight be there? Surely, anyone of SoTC's huge boss will be in you later of related blogs to this one. lol.

The Boss was indeed an incredible fight. (I actually enjoyed the portion with The Sorrow a bit more, but I guess it's not technically a boss fight ) As far as Assassin's Creed goes, well... I think I was too soured by the rest of the game to find anything enjoyable in it. Perhaps if I had a save of the game just before that segment, was bashed over the head with a pipe and granted temporary amnesia, I might be able to enjoy that portion.

With The Boss on here though, I'm quite anxious to see the next fights. I'm expecting at least one from Persona 3, and one Colossi.

Yeah, Sibrand was a freaking nutcase lol I'm surprised to see The Boss already, top 3 must be some real doozies.

@soldjango: Sibrand was the one that killed the priest and stayed on the ship's dock and...well...doesn't my blog cover this?

@Thomas-Crown: See, with The End, I couldn't feel all that Sniper tension because I got grounded during that time, so I had to save while fighting him and then...well.......you know....after I loaded my file up from being freed from punishment.... And I know the bar was set high already by The Boss' appearance, but I'm quite confident that the next three will have good reasons for being even higher. Although I get the feeling the very top one will require a darn good reason, considering what I chose to be my favorite boss fight for all time. But yeah, you know my preferences pretty well, so guessing for you shouldn't be too hard at all.

@raven_squad: Hehe. I don't blame ya. To be honest, it's not worth the save file either. Apparently, even if you save RIGHT on the event, the load screen still takes you to the lecture before you can leave to town...you still have to gather clues....and then you have to hear all the talking that goes between that BEFORE you can fight Sibrand anyways....which is no good considering I ALREADY BEAT THE GAME!!

@Flame_Blade88: Yeah. Big ones for sure. All of them come with great reasons no less. lol

I couldn't remember who Sibrand was until you gave the description of the madman who you had to chase around. That was on of my favorite chase scenes in a game (much better than all the annoying ones through back alleys in the GTA series). I somehow managed to lose my copy of AC and never managed to finish it. It remains the only game I have ever owned that I did not complete.

Sadly, I did not play MGS3 or MGS2. I've been meaning to get them, but I was told to get the Substance and Subsistance versions of them for the bonus content. Non of the Gamestop's around me have them in stock so I guess out of luck.

Ugh....just thinking about Sibrand gives me a headache. It took me an inhuman amount of time to catch that little #?$&#?. Not a very memorable boss fight, for me at least. But, as it has become a recurring motto between me and you symph, to each his own.

I can't comment on number 4. Haven't played MGS3 yet. It's currently sitting in my pile of shame. Well, you got 3 more chances to interest me in this whole boss battle blog thingy. Use them wisely.

No Psycho mantis I think that was a better MGS fight you plugged your controller into slot 2 and he could'nt read your mind awesome, and you meet him on MGS4 but you will as you have a supperior console and he can't defeat you to good, PS3 beats Psycho mantis, Liquid ocoelot was also a good MGS fight

Candidate for worst final boss ever... Elder Scrolls: Oblivion... you don't even fight it yourself... you just watch... the only downer on an otherwise great game.

Good list so far, I'm actually one of few people that did enjoyed Assassin's Creed quite a bit even though the gathering missions were probably the only downside I had against the game in general, the chase boss scene was quite well done.

As for "The Boss" from MGS3 - you really can't go wrong, you will find me perhaps little crazy but to this point, in all of Metal Gear Solid franchise I find "The Boss" to be my personal favorite character. I wish one day we could actually play as her, see her story and her mentoring the Naked Snake (Big Boss).
That would made a phenomenal game.

Cool, I made it to this blog. Ugh, I hated Assassin's Creed. It was waaaaaay too repetitive for my tastes that I didn't even finish the game. Regardless, I think I did have that boss battle that made the top 5 and i gotta say it was more challenging than the ones before it(especially when the guards are all over me ). The Boss battle was pretty epic and really challenging, I remember when she comes up behind me to CQC me and I'm trying to counter it but I'm too late. Not only does she knock me right down, but disarms me and tosses away both my gun and ammo. The Boss truly deserved the title, of Boss . I wonder what the other top 5 boss battles are, since a game like Assassin's Creed can make the list with a good boss battle there's no telling what other games had good boss battles. Though I'm not sure if I remember you liked AC but I didn't like the game myself imo. I am anticipating the sequel since you can do more stuff and kill guards... stealthly now.

Assasin's Creed....mmh......I recognize it's merits but no.....I didn't like the game, I was overhyped when i first saw the trailers, but the game didn't work for me.

About The Boss, YEAH ! This is an epic battle ! BUT ! From all the MGS3 bosses,,,, THE END ! was the numero 1 for me ! I think I lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes the first time I played against The End....and I LOST that very first match.....

I never got that far in AC I guess... good to know if I keep playing it I could get one good experience out of it.
Posted Aug 28, 2009 8:00 am PT
Only Assassins Creed boss fights I remember where the ones near the end. Especially the whole "We shall see who God truly favors", then you get jumped by 20 people, and then the damn boss fight starts.

To bad The Boss didn't explode in a fury of hornets, arrows, or fire. Or...dentures.
Posted Aug 28, 2009 10:01 am PT
I haven't played either of those. But I know I been wanting to play AC but never got around to really doing it though. But hopefully you will put something in your countdown I know.

I hate to be wrong. So, fingers' crossed for my predictions. lol.

Oooooooh, him. I stealthed his ass so hard XD

BWAHAHAHAHAH!

I SEE AN ASSASSIN'S CREED BOSS THAR!

That thrill you mentioned in that section - I just happened to experience it a lot of times, thus making it incredibly fun for me

Very good choice with The Boss, but I couldn't take advantage of the wonderfully lain out battlefield because I was camo-whoring on my first playthrough, which resulted in my using a heat goggle with a Mosin Nagant and spamming it at her from a distance just so I could grab that camo.

Looking forward to more!

I dont know why but I never felt bad about killing the boss
Posted Aug 28, 2009 1:36 pm PT
The boss was a pain in the freakin' ARSE on THE BOSS difficulty. but dear god was the end harder. i spent DAYS trying to beat him.
Posted Aug 28, 2009 6:18 pm PT
actually i think weeks
Posted Aug 28, 2009 6:21 pm PT
@N-REAL: Oh yeah I remember that battle. Took place on 3 areas you had to traverse while hunting down The End before he hunts you down... or you can do it the n00b-friendly way by turning up the clock after you start the battle so he dies of old age. Or you can snipe him back before the encounter so you don't have to fight him later. That boss was awesome and hilarious since you have so many ways to take him out but I like teh old fashion way, cuz I'm not a n00b.

i personally have never been able to pick a "favorite boss fight" type of scene. it always seems so hard. Most of the boss fights that come up in my head are driven by pure nostalgia. For instance, playing wack-a-mole with the dragon in ocarina of time was always a favorite. Does anything make it particularly fun or good? Not really. Anyway, good picks.

Hmm, I can't remember Sibrand fight, and I haven't finish MGS3. So no comment.

Which is contradictory to what I just write....
Posted Aug 29, 2009 12:33 pm PT
I enjoy fighting The End than The Boss
