Wow I really neglected this blog. Anway, I'm hoping to change that now.

So I finaly beat Final Fantasy XII. Yeah I know what you're thinking, "Barly! I beat that a week after launch!" or something to that degree. The sad thing is I got this game at launch. This is one of about seven RPGs that I need to beat and the list just keeps getting longer. At least I'm putting a dent in it.

I'm going to say off the bat that I loved this game. I think one of the things that people often find weird about me is that when it comes to games I'm not afraid of change so when I found out they changed the battle system in this game I was happy. I know it detours from the traditional formula but that isn't a bad thing. This is one of the longest running series in the videogame industry and one of the most succesful, they have a reputation for innovation and keeping things fresh.

What I mainly want to talk about is the last boss so, as the title warns, if you don't want spoilers stop reading.

Anyway, Vayne was pretty challenging but like a good RPG player, my whole party was nice and leveled (It's also important note that my people were over level 60, and my Vaan was level 73 so I killed Vayne alot quicker than he was probably meant to). Now, I've played alot of the Final Fantasy series (III,VII,VIII,X,XI) and if there was any advice that I could give it would be to expect a long winded final boss. Seriously, all of them refuse to die and will take new forms to make sure of it. In Vayne's case: first you fight him hand to hand, simple enough right? Then after that he fuses with some magicite turning him into the Hulk with a sun tan, not so easy. So after I changed my macros (That's the slang word for gambits, I used to play XI alot) and doped my party up on just about every status effect I could, he goes down or so I thought. Advice number 2, or more like a warning, most Final Fantasy bosses will grow wings at some point in their evolution cycle so prepare yourself because this means they arn't "messing around" anymore. In this case Vayne fuses with an Undying to from his winged persona. I think if I just saw his silhouette at this point I wouldn't know it was Vayne but I would know he was a boss from Final Fantasy. The wings. I swear I knew what this guy was going to do before I fought him. So after killing him I get teh crazy cool ending. What I like about it is that story didn't concentrate on one specific couple like past games, instead it actualy brings the spotlight to everybody and wraps it up nicely.

I hope that Square continues to inovate this series with its thirthenth instalment. Alright thats one RPG down, thanks for reading.

Soul Calibur IV is just around the corner and I have been excited about each trailer they've released. I knew Namco-Bandai was going to annouce something about thier long time fighting series so I expected something real cool. Since the release of SC II I was sure they were going to have cameo characters in III but instead settled for a bland character creation mode that I got tired of real quick. Bad creation mode aside it didn't stop my excitment for what might be next for one of my favorite video game series ever. Then I heard Darth Vader's brething noise in there Fourth Trailer and it made my head twitch sideways. I'm not saying having the Star Wars characters in the game is bad or that it has to make any kind of sense but when ever I see Vader and Mitsurugi clashing it makes me think that the lightsaber should be slicing through and weapon in that game. I'm excited for SCIV and can't wait to play as the new characters but I feel like it was kind of rough to take in at first. As for which vesion I'm getting I think I'm going to settle with the PS3 version for now but I may just own a 360 copy too (yes I'm that much of a fan....and I like Yoda too).

My first blog post for the new year! I hope everyone was well and safe on the first. Anyway this blog is about something I recently realized and found it very amusing. My room is no longer dark at night when I go to bed.

This probably started with my cell phone but I'll start the story with when I got my psp. If you own one you know that when you charge it the power light shines like most portable devices do. Then there was my PS3, on stand by mode it has a red LED light that comes on (I don't shut it off with the switch in the back, that can damage the system.). Then there is my wall mounted 42" LCD TV that has its own tuner box for all its inputs so both the screen and the box have stand by LEDs on. Then there is my DS which I chage on my dresser with its light. Then there is my Wii's light. Finaly, there is my recent perchase of the Playstation eye which shines its light because I have my PS3 on plug and play mode so that I can turn it on with my PSP (a cool feature by the way).

It dawned on my a couple of nights ago that I got a bit of a light show going on in room at night. It doesn't bother me when I try to go to sleep but it's funny when I think about what this new generation of consoles has brought me and an LED light show is one of them.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Sykosis86.
Sykosis86 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Sykosis86 possibly have for not rating a single film?
