Usually I always see myself buying TPS games every year, well the year I am actively gaming, so not 2007. Nothing against TPS games or any other shooter type game, it's a popular genre but next year I can't think of one shooter game that appeals to me whilst there are many non-shooter games I am looking forward to; like GOW3, The Last Guardian, WKC, Yakuza 3, Gran Turismo 5, Twisted Metal, FF13 and amongst others. Just as well actually, I don't want to buy any TPS games for the start of the new decade and I would also like to add that 2010 is going to be a momentous year for gaming. It will be the year that finally dethrones MGS4 as my favourite game this gen, don't let me down God of War 3 and The Last Guardian ![]()

^ Personal GOTY 2010, and it better come out in 2010 !
Good to be back, before you guys get excited no I wasn't suspended or anything, I just wanted to be away from gaming for 2 weeks... time out if you know what I mean. Right so most of guys may know that GOW3 along with Last Guardian are my most anticipated games for 2010, if I was only buying two games next year it would be these two. Right, to the point, I checked my email this morning and what do I see? a code for the GOW3 demo! I didn't even realise Sony was sending out codes and I really appreciate that I received one. Words could not express how over-joyed I was to see this, brightened up my day it did, lol.
I rushed to my PS3 and quickly typed in the code to download the demo, it was 2.5GB btw, biggest demo I have ever downloaded on PSN. Once it was done and installed I was ready to play straight away. I'll let you know I was actually salivating throughout, the demo is exactly the same as the one shown at E3 but trust me when I say this, watching and playing was a huge difference, now I have seen that demo played a lot of times but when you actually play it yourself.... Im sorry Im salivating again. OK so when you play the game and see the scale fist hand, you can't help but take your time with every thing, the demo maybe an old build but already is showing great potential and I believe the end product will undoubtedly be one that no gamer would want to miss.
A few things about the demo I really really liked:
- BLOOOOD! a GOW game isnt a GOW game without blood and GOW3 has bucket loads of it, like you guys already didn't know, lol. I love how the blood actually stays on Kratos's body for a while, a really nice touch.
- Cestus - Usually with weapons the blades of chaos has always been better in every situation in the previous titles but damn Cestus sure packs a punch. Heavier to use, well feels heavier but really great with crowd control.
- Grabbing enemies and ramming them into a group never gets old, so friggen awesome man, lolz.
- Scale - The demo was a good indication that Sony has not forgotten the scale of the game, backgrounds are huge and there is all kinds of crazy stuff going on. The game feels the most epic in the franchise going by what I have seen.
- Chimera, a worthy addition to the list of creatures Kratos will pwn along the way, hoping for more awesome new beasts!
I don't believe I'll tire of the demo any time soon, it's a good half hour of gameplay with awesome pacing, never a dull moment and a perfect showcase of the GOW games, you never feel that Sony have messed it up under the pressure of delivering an epic title in the franchise.
Now about the Last Guardian demo.....
Well as most of you guys are aware I love retro anime, watching current anime these days makes me realise how awesome retro anime really is. Sure I love the recent stuff like Full Metal Alchemist, Code Geass and Elfen Liedbut for me they just can't beat retro anime like Fist of the north star, Angel Cop, Cowboy bebop etc. Yes I only consider anime in the 20th Century as retro. I don't normally buy anime and watch majority on the net but I really feel obliged to buy all the retro anime I have watched or not, they are THAT awesome.
Anway on to the anime I bought. The good thing about retro anime is that they are so cheap, lol. I got it off Amazon and it hardly cost me over £20. The anime's are:
Goku Midnight Eye Part II - Basically a guy who has a cybernetic eye allowing him to connect to every computer in the world, his a cop and has to fight the scum ofthe city which on the brink of disaster.
X/1999 - A young kid by the name of Kamui Shiro dragged into a war with the fate of the world at stake. Lot's of hard decision ensures for him as his friends are also dragged into the chaos.
Perfect Blue - J Popstar Mima decided to be an actress. Some of her fans are upset by her change in career and persona, not least the stalker ![]()

My retro anime collection currently consists off:
- Fist of the North Star series and movie
- Ninja Scroll
- Ghost in the Shell and Innocence
- Wicked City

- Goku Midnight Eye Part I
- Golgo 13
- Angel Cop series
- Crying Freeman series
- Dominion Tank Police (all acts)
