I started gaming at the age of 3, and at the time the system I was playing on was the Nintendo Entertainment System. I remember the first game I popped in was a copy of Castlevania, the very first game in the series with Simon Belmont. Gaming immediately became a hobby of mine from the minute I turned that system on. Video games didn't truly pick up for me until I played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on the Super Nintendo. I remember at 5 years old I was crying and crying over the fact that my mom wouldn't buy the game for me; I actually made a scene of it and wouldn't leave the store until she got it for me. I didn't know what it was that brought such an insane reaction, but the game was strangely appealing. From that point on, A Link to the Past became my favorite game and it forever established Nintendo in a special place in my heart. A few consoles and many birthdays later, I am now a 17 year old gaming hobbyist. During the summer I like to go rare game hunting, most of the time I don't find what I want but I get a good feeling just searching around the stores. Amidst all my Nintendo systems, I have a Playstation 2. The Playstation 2 was more or less forced upon me one Christmas when my mom bought one for me despite my family's poor performance financially. The first game I played on that system was Final Fantasy X, while it wasn't my first Final Fantasy game, it fueled my fire for getting some of the other games in the series. In the Playstation 2's huge library of games, none is more treasured by me than Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. If you ask me what my favorite non-Nintendo franchise is, I will immediately say Metal Gear. As for my future gaming plans, I foresee a slap-happy face with Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
