I just saw the movie Stardust last weekend, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. There are obvious comparisons to The Princess Bride, and while Stardust is certainly not the better film, it still hits the same notes. The dialogue is sharp and the story is well-woven. It can get a bit confusing at times, but the interesting characters and finely crafted visuals keep the film moving. The parade of dead princes are fun to watch, and Robert DeNiro has a blast hamming it up as a lighting-bartering sky pirate. Don't let the shoddy advertising scare you away, Stardust is definitely a welcome breath of fresh air in a summer of retread threequels.
